1. Yes, I would not imagine that happening, it would most likely end in something like the Fender issue, and BOOM, 10% variant copies everywhere.

3. What a beauty! But I believe that the SJ and SP basses are fanned 35"-32".
4. Niiice! Would this be able to travel to Portuguese shores? We're so broke here, we need the external investment!

Sweet looking bass, why are you selling André? For others to know, this is the first bass from from an up and coming portuguese luthier named Luís Farinha. The bass depicted here, if you notice, was built with a lot of Dingwall techniques, including his most exclusive Prima. Notice that both body wings are made from different woods. I'm not sure, but this bass may be fanned from 35´ to 37´ Oh and that scale is ebony(REAL african ebony)
6. Terrific basses ppl, remember I debuted myself in this forum selling on of these beasts. The kind of bass that makes everything else sound "good but something missing". Not a bad price, when I sold mine the pound was higher in value.
7.
Yes was I that did the deal with Paulo Peter
haha, you should have kept that TRB-5P man, such nice scale and a very clean tone, it got sanded too, Paulo claims it opened up the sound a bit, plus the maple beneath looks killer now.
8.
Not necessarily and at the moment its still for sale. I think the PUPs and Preamp are Bernie's standard from around 2004 which I believe are the same as now apart from it doesnt have some of the extras such as the tuning pitch and metronome. I will drag out some pics... Steve
I hear his preamps are mighty complex, what are the specs on them?
9. If you sell the Sad, will you withdraw the GB?
10.
I've recently shipped two large and heavy basses plus big Yamaha cases to Portugal Steve, via Interparcel. No problems and good pricing too. Peter
Were you the one that sold the 2 yamahas to Paulo? He's a good friend of mine, and owner of this behemoth in my avatar. The yamahas are great basses, you should see them now that the paint was sanded off, the TRB 6 is beautiful.
11. I was also a little disappointed when I laid my hands on a Fodera for the first time. To this day I have tried two imperials and the monarch 4 string, just like wooten's. The do have what some here have described as "polite tone", very sweet high register, nice focused mids, I could definitly identify how Garrisson or other jazz guys get their tone. The monarch was IME, the biggest FAIL ever, dull, cheap sounding, I have tried some EMG equipped asian basses that sounded very similar to that instrument. They are definitly overrated in price, there are luthiers out there that have far surpassed them, and charge a fraction of what they ask. Still, they have what makes people tick, nice designs, great woods, and amazing players! I'm curious how that new pope preamp will work for them too.
12. Would you ship the Sad to Portugal? If so, gimme a few days to see if I can dig up the money. That GB is also very nice, but can't find pics of it anywhere. Do you have a full frontal shot of that babe? What guts and pups does that thing have?
13. for the colour to be trans red and "series 3", it's most likely the 1005. Then again the older TRB 5p also had a trans red option.
14. now you made me nervous...I'm this close to financially ruin myself
15. AMAZING price, who has the cash and skips this is a no brain. best deal ever after my bargain sale of a Ritter. these things go for some 7000 euros new.
16. I'm sorry, you're not clear on that, are you saying you want to trade a SAD for one of the old TRB5P I basses from the early 90's?
17. hahah amazing coincidence, the moment I saw your post, shows up Sting playing one in VH1!
18. Not really into selling it my friend?
19. old school TRB basses PWN! I may have a friend who is interested. He bought the 4 string version a while back, and has been looking for the 5 and 6 versions ever since.
20.
Or Fender.
quite the contrary to both brands, I'm sick of warwicks, pretty much all you can find here above the 1500 Euros mark. thx for the tips guys!
21. To this day, I usually visit several american bass sites, but know little of UK bass dealers, except for the bass Gallery. So what other stores do you guys go to for your high-end oriented gear?? cheers!
22. forgot to add: SOLD thx to Brian for giving it a new home.
23.
glad to see you found a buyer for such a lovely piece of work. was it a basschatter, or someone else?
yup! it's going to a basschat member, Wol aka Brian. i knew I'd most likely sell the bass inside Europe, our american friends are really saving their US cents.. shipping stuff trough airmail is such a hassle, with the money I'm spending, I could buy a cheapo jazz. nice looking shuker btw.
24. this bass is ON HOLD! Will be shipped to the UK next Monday.
