1.
I'm just window shopping at the minute but; is that a 3 band eq? Also what's the body made of and what's it weigh? Cheers.
Howdy, The body is made of swamp ash with a lovely bit of craftsmanship namely the flamed maple finish to the top. The bass weighs in around 8lbs. The sadowsky eq system comprises of master volume, pickup pan/selector a stacked nob for hi and low eq and finally a tone nob that can be pulled to make the bass passive (if required) Regards Mark
2. Chrome plate, 4 bolt hole Serial number 826** dated 1961-1962 Regards Mark
3. Howdy To raise some funds Im having to clear out some gear, reluctantly Im having to sell this. 2004 Overwater Jazz custom bass fitted with a sadowsky VTC preamp and Bartolloni soap bar pickups. Outstanding range of tones available both active and passive. 34" scale, very lightweight but powerful, Ultra thin/smooth rosewood fast neck. Body is swamp ash and is extremely lightweight (around 8Lbs) The face of the body has a lovely quilted maple finish to it set off with a custom made mother of pearl pickguard. There is a locking jack socket fitted also. Looking for £850 a cost for a new one would see you parting with £2300+ without the sadowsky upgrade Thanks for looking Regards Mark
4. Whats wrong with the originally installed preamp? regards Mark
5. *PRICE DROPPED TO £899* last chance before it goes on e-bay an absoloute bargain
6. A rehersal is generally an unpaid gig. (sometimes you have to pay to reherse!!!) Its ok to reherse to get the band tight and to ensure you are confident when playing to an audience as long as it is structured/organised and not just hours of listening to the guitar player practicing his solo's!! There is no point rehersing just for the sake of it, unless you are benefitting from it, put your foot down or ask for some cash for your time and troubles, Im sure they will then see the light!
7. Howdy Unfortunatly due to financial reasons I am having to thin out my collection. I am privelleged to currently own 2 fantastic 4string jazz basses one being a sadowsky RV4 and the other being an overwater jazz fitted with sadowsky preamp. I love both basses equally and apart from the finish, theres not alot to seperate them. Ive owned the overwater longer so there is perhaps a little more sentiment involved. I really dont wish to part with either but may soon have too, so my question is which one will fetch the highest price and which one would you keep. Look forward to some advice Thanks for reading guys and girls Regards Mark
8. all PM's from today replied to. Regards Mark

13.
Yep well that put that one to bed!
Im going to be bold and take a brave step. without causing world war III I personally feel that its about time basschat.co.uk was an exclusive site for bassplayers in the uk. the politically correct members may shoot me down in flames and I have no problem with our EU counterparts (as I am fluent in 4 european languages and have many a friend worldwide) but when we have a .co.uk site, surely it should remain within the UK(especially for sales). there was a time when Britannia ruled the waves you know. To me there is nothing wrong with www.basschat.holland.com or www.basschat.spain.com. for thoses in respective countries to enjoy. that would leave www.basschatthailand.com to go and sell his warwick and spector basses on ebay or around around the continent of asia without arousing such suspician on this site. Regards Mark
14.
Evening bump
Howdy, This bass used to be mine, the body is a 1988/89 japaneese body with a 2009 brand new maple neck from a 50's re-issue mexican precision. The scratchplate was changed from the original white one too this black one but is a genuine fender part. All pickups, pots, hardware are from the 88/89 japan model. Superb lightweight body and the neck fits the pocket like a dream Hope this helps Regards Mark
15. Howdy guys, Im trying to help any of you guys by offering you some work directly as opposed to going via the agents If anyone has a nice band and is local and available, theres a fair days pay for an evenings work. regards Mark
16. Howdy I will cut the story short A mate of mine is getting married on July 16th 2010 and has asked me to "sort him out a band for the big day" I dont really want to get involved an also I have a gig myself that night, but I would like totry and put him in contact with a decent band. He is looking for a band who play modern stuff in perticular Kasabian, paul weller, the jam etc. He is also looking for a dj(boooooooo) so If you can provide one this may make things easier as usually dj's booked seperatly are a f*cking neusence and a complete liability. This will be a paid gig in Solihul Birmingham. Please PM me if you are free on that date, are reliable and play this perticular kind of music or something similar Cheers guys Mark

20. Howdy fellow members Fist of all appologies as my camera and p.c are both giving me som jip. Its very poor sport not to post any pics but I really need to generate some cash to fund additional amplification. If anyone could post some pics for me that would be really cool. the original thread is on the site but im a bit computer illiterate and have no idea of how to post. TRadford and Rayman were the previous owners of this fine example and I am sure they can vouch for this baby. THis was my introduction to 5 string bass and Ive got on with it so well I have now moved up a gear and purchased Molans 5string shuker elite. upgrades include Nordstrand 5:2 pickup, east retro eq, brass nut. To me, this sounds as good if not better than a stingray and the eq provides a much broader scope for sounds. I am looking for £300 collected, which is what I paid for it or £335 posted in a hard case shell anywhere in the uk. I am a firm beleiver that as I can only play 1 bass at the time I limit myself to one five string, one four string and a spare bass. Warmest regards Mark
21.
What does your ultimate sound sound like?
I love the marcus sound but its a little too toppy for me, needs a little more bass in there and I think I would have it.
22. Howdy, Appologies for going over old ground and apologies if this is in the wrong place. looking for some inspiration, still have not found my sound. the closest I have come to my ultimate sound is a sadowsky preamp with bartalloni pickups.(jazz style bass) Is there a better combination out there? would love some feedback regards Mark
23. The bass sounds teriffic, never sounded that good when I owned it!!!!!! must be your playing cool track man, keep up the good work Mark
