BC's number one wordsmith and raconteur just bought a compression pedal off me. All tickety-boo and that sort of thing
2. In case you want further reading, here's 8 pages of discussion on TalkBass: http://www.talkbass....-winner-848274/ Edit: prefer cash but would also consider p/x (with cash your way) for a two-channel Series 4 Acoustic Image Image Clarus+ head (my Ten2 combo only has the one-channel head)

4. Mike Arnopol is at the forefront of a new wave of cabs in the US voiced for double bass. I am selling one of his Crazy 8 cabs - a 1x8" micro cab that is perfect for quieter gigs, coffee shop gigs, band practices etc. Mine is tweeterless and has a retracting tilt leg option (although I just use it sat upright with my EA or Acoustic Image amp on top). Its still in excellent condition and I have bought a cajon padded gig bag, which fits the cab and leaves some room at one end for amp and cables, to sling it over my shoulder. Needless to say its an incredibly light cab (maybe 12-13 pounds, I've not weighed it though) so with a lightweight head (eg, my EA Micro plus cab) in the cajon bag it is a breeze to carry to gigs. So why sell? Because I've just received Mike Arnopol's bigger Big E 4x5" cab (I need more volume in my band due to playing more at 'rock volumes' with drummer, guitar, mandolin and two vocals). I paid just over £500 including import duty to get my Crazy 8 into the country and the cajon bag was another £50, so I have £550 in this. I would be looking for £450 due to its excellent condition and scarcity value, collected/meet-up in London. Post would be another £15-20 I guess. General blurb on the Crazy 8: http://www.gigmaster...orks_v3_007.htm Couple of pics of other people's Crazy 8's (mine is without tweeter, otherwise visually identical):

6.
Another vote for Danny Thompson. So many great tracks to choose from but I'm particularly fond of his work on David Syvian's Ink in the Well from Brilliant Trees.
Absolutely love his playing on that - was the first time I heard Danny back in the mid-80s when I was a Japan fan and I fell in love with his singular, buzzy tone
7. and Ray Brown (OK, so that makes three but they are all different in style and approach) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKMTcA2UuFg

9. Yeah, its not a Stingray
10. Isn't this a wrongly labelled Jazz from NKRG as well? Says its a 1960 reissue but looks like a regular AV62RI to me???? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FENDER-JAZZ-BASS-STACK-KNOB-SLAB-REISSUE-1960-VINTAGE-PRE-CBS-REISSUE-/390578611816?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item5af04ca668#ht_640wt_1111
11. Sorry to hear that Keith but hopefully something good awaits round the corner
12. I suspect this will be a fruitless thread as everyone wants to buy a TH500 and noone wants to sell (apart from to buy a bigger Aguilar it would seem!) Once and only bump from me before I get back in my box
13. Dan bought my Catalinbread SFT pedal. Super fast payment and the usual friendly comms from Dan
14. Dave bought a Pedaltrain Nano effects board and bag from me. Superfast no-nonsense deal. All good
15. BC's Jigster is in a band called Those Among Us Are Wolves. They play post-rock style, sonic landscapes ... and very good they are too. They have just released their first EP. I downloaded it this morning. Really good stuff and worth £3 of anyone's money. http://thoseamongstusarewolves.bandcamp.com/
16. £35 if handed over in person in London (I work nr Liverpool St, live nr Hammersmith)
17. If I can make it (60% sure I can) I will bring along my 1963 Precision. Like its owner, its nearly 50 years old, overweight and vintage white (haired in my case) ...
18. I have a near-mint condition Euphonic Audio Micro 550 head which I would be interested in trading for an Aguilar Tone Hammer TH500 head with a £50+ top-up from me. My amp is in excellent condition and I have bought a short jack-to-XLR cable (so it can be used for DI) and a neoprene padded sleeve/gigbag. Anyone interested? Here's specs from BassDirect website: http://www.bassdirec...ts/EA_Amps.html PS, I am only interested in this specific trade, not a sale (I'm conscious there are already two other Micro 550s for sale on BC)
19. Agreed, and I hope the fleas have departed, icastle . I think my cats are now their new home Yes, so I've had a few. Couldn't help it after bigjohn claimed Suarez only pretended to bite Ivanovic. At that point I figured we were all disappearing into a singularity and the only thing to do was drink
20. Nice one matey! Celestial Basschat harmony is restored
