Statistically speaking it must have been one of Milty's posts
2. haha the manageress (Laura) is the singer in my band. Its where we recorded our retro video, Aura Negra. Small but good vibe
3. Cheers Tom and it looks virtually brand new too. I am surprised it hasn't been snapped up but then again the same applies to loads of other good stuff for sale on BC
4. Kev bought a set of Velvet double bass strings off me. Friendly comms, fast payment, all good. Cheers!
5. Wowzer that went fast and not hard to see why! So who's the lucky dude?
6. Keith and I continued our BC pass-the-parcel (of double bass strings) game. Ever the gent, our Keith
7.
That is a wicked tune mate! Right up my street - even Mrs.'tone liked it. She said ,"Ooo that's good, who's that?" I told her and she said,"That's much nicer than that other rubbish you've been listening too!" Needless to say the Brand X hasn't been going down too well! Cracking tone there Clarky, really smooth. What strings are you using?
cheers for that! The strings are Rotosound Tru Bass, the big fat black nylon strings as used by Herbie Flowers, Jah Wobble and Macca
8. and finally, errr, here's me playng a fretless P http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v4PAaY7XU4
9. Bad Company's Boz Burrell also extensively used a fretless P
10. Erm, BC's very own wateroftyne? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhdDipy8MB0
11. Haven't played there for a few years but the Underworld in Camden certainly used to be a focal point for the heavy rock/metal/thrash scene Also could try The Purple Turtle in Camden?
12. Bach's Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (as nicked by Beach Boys for Lady Lynda) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwWL8Y-qsJg First dance was Sweet Love by Anita Baker (which dates us a lot! 1991 it was) - aaaaaahhh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEHdYngIDuY
13. Good stuff Keith, these are my spare set (have Spiro Weich and Mittel sets on my basses now) so I hope I don't break a string!
14. The strings are about six months old and have years of life on them but the silks are a little ragged (see picture), having been on and off my basses a few times while I have been on the usual 'string odyssey' (why are Spiro silks so fragile?). Anyway these are £115 + post from Thomann so how about £60 posted?
15. This is on trial for a week with a BC'er
16. Oops me again. Roger and I just did an amp/cab trade in a quite posh services station. As ever, Roger was thoroughly charming and accommodating
17. Simonon-tastic with the cream DiMarzios! Phwoar
18. Hadn't occurred to me but thats excellent! Right Said Jack
19. "Sexy and I know it"
20. Really excellent gigbags, these (I have one). Someone grab a bargain
21. but at least he didn't get charged a £20 fee
22. I have used a Bassmax in the G slot too with good results on my little Kolstein travel bass, which is surprisingly boomy and thumpy for a downsized DB
23. Its 550W at 4 ohms or 310 at 8 ohms so I have never had a problem with sound level. And I play next to a loud drummer. BC'er wwcringe has played an acoustic electric bass through it and my old Epi 112 cab (8 ohm) and seemed happy at a recent gig so you could ask him for a second opinion. Its very clean for electric bass and you might want to warm it up with a preamp or pedal (Sansamp etc) for a retro Motown or overdriven blues sound Edit: BassBod got there first!
24. If you could have stretched your budget I would have said my EA Micro. Clean as a whistle and one input specifically voiced for DB piezo, the other for electric. Trouble is I am already losing money on it at £380 (and I bought it s/h only a few months ago)
