  1. I’m on my lonesome vote-wise playing on lonesome.
  2. My mum once unplugged someone’s microphone, they were making a racket and annoying her. The ‘singer’ was slightly drunk and didn’t realise, he blamed the microphone.
  3. I don’t know tbh, I haven’t used that particular feature. I’ll check next time I’m using it.
  4. I’ve only had one for ages. It does have 6 strings though, so does it count as 1.5? 😆
  5. I had a Marleaux bass about ten years ago, lovely instruments. I’ve got a book of the cello suites arranged for bass that I use for reading practice, they’re beautiful pieces.
  6. There’s a guy in Lichfield works at a music shop. He’s very good with audio gear.
  7. I came across this guy on Instagram. It’s not to everyone’s taste I know, personally I love solo bass. The bass is a Marleaux Heiko Jung signature model with Pyramid black nylon strings. The bass has a built in microphone, the recorded sound is a mix of that and the amplified sound. https://www.instagram.com/p/CbdREA3sQHZ/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  8. It would yes. Just treat it as a guitar or bass.
  9. Connect your phone to your interface, then play the YouTube video and record it into your DAW.
  10. In some ways I’m not as good as I was 7 or 8 years ago when I was at uni. Then I was doing 12 to 14 hours a day practice. Now, my technique needs to allow me to express whatever I’m hearing in my head. I’m one of those strange bassists that likes to play solo, I’ve recently started incorporating extended techniques into my playing. It’s about control, control of my technique, control of the harmonic aspects, control of the notes: dynamic, rhythm, timing etc. If there’s anything uncontrolled it’s through choice, not through lack of technique.
  11. Hmm, I quite like that. I’ve never been a particularly big Rush fan, I much prefer their later albums to their early material. I’ve never understood why people think a new project should just be a continuation of a previous one. This is possibly something he’s wanted to do for a while?
  12. It’s not central London, but I have been here a few times. It’s pretty good, if a little expensive - though I guess that’s relative, I’m used to Birmingham prices. https://www.residentstudios.com/about-us/ There was a place in central London that I used a couple of times too. I can’t remember the name now though, and certainly wouldn’t recommend it.
  13. I liked Moffett’s playing, he was great on both upright and electric bass. A friend just linked to this album on Bandcamp. I’m listening to it right now. https://nettduo.bandcamp.com/album/overtones?fbclid=IwAR0IGgo_FvS5GbfhX8mlFhfjvjp2WqJRwD3qwe39zy3s5eZYA4BwmHBJBCo
  14. It’s happened to me. I had hassle from someone a couple of years ago when I was selling a pair of Genelec monitors. The guy was going to pay but didn’t, then demanded to know why I hadn’t posted them. Now I always state clearly on the listing that it’s strictly cash on collection only, and give my post code. Anyone wanting anything different the message is deleted and they’re blocked. Life is too short to spend messing about with dishonest people on the internet.
  15. Like new, bought at the beginning of March. They come complete with all original packaging, coily cable, spare ear muffs. I’m a bit of a headphone freak, I have quite a few pairs, I’m always trying new ones. I don't get on with these, they’re great sounding, just a little uncomfortable for my head. These are The V1 model. I bought the V2s at the same time to compare, I thought these sounded better. Price includes special delivery postage.
  16. Maybe use an SkB Bass Safe? Your gig bag fits inside it. There was one advertised in the sales section recently.
  17. I don’t know the answer to your question, I played one a few years ago, they’re wonderful instruments. There’s one for sale on the site at the moment.
  18. This post cannot be displayed because it is in a forum which requires at least 1 post to view.
  19. Following the fallout between the Campbell brothers there’s two UB40s, as if one wasn’t one too many.
  20. I don’t think Sims are operating at the moment. I believe Martin is just doing LEDs and pickups.
  21. They’re using the name Pink Floyd simply because it’ll sell more copies and make more money for a very good cause. It’s simple marketing.
  22. Thanks for sharing this, I’ll listen to it later. I love hearing bass played outside of its regular setting. John Patitucci composed a beautiful piece for 6 string bass and strings a few years ago.
