Ibanez Soundear should tick all your boxes. P/J (or soapbars, depending on model), 24 frets, slim neck, great sound, rock image. I have an SR1000 (not for sale, so not a plug) which I've had since new from 1990 & has been my main bass since then & you can pick up 2nd hand ibbys for a decent price.

There's many guitar o/d pedals that work well on bass, infact many of the ones you find mentioned on here are actually guitar pedals. For wah I can recommend the moog mf-101 (again!). Tho it is a little dearer than the ones you have mentioned, it works very well on both (I suppose it was originally designed for synth as it's based on the LPF from a minimoog). I play both guitar & bass & use my board on both which comprises of a moog Bass Murf (makes some lovely swooshy sounds on the geetah), a PSK super distortion (cheap piece of 80s plastic which I'm actually finding a use for), a Boss CE-2 chorus & the moog mf-101. I used my acoustic thru this board last night & got some great results. Best thing i can advise is to get to a decent music shop & have a play about & see what suits you.

+1 I went to the ibanez forum a few years back & gave them the SN from my SR1000e & got told everything except what colour it is.

Another tip for faster tapping pieces where you need a heavier touch is to put your middle finger over the nail of your index finger (I learned that one from a Billy Sheehan book back in the early 90s). Tho this method might not suit more intricate pieces unless you can do the same with the next two fingers!

I think the "Christian whatever clubs" are really just fellow Christians looking to find any like minded folk & as the OP says, it's not really different to any others (eg: Fender appreciation thread) & I wouldn't segregate myself from anyone else on this (or any other) forum. I joined BC well before I became a Christian & could be argued that by joining BC, I have dingyed all the other musicians, tho I would argue I haven't Ancient Mariner did previously post a topic with the title "Worship Bay Splayers". At the end of the day I'm glad to say I'm a member on Basschat & despite all the differing beliefs on here, it's a great community to be amongst.

It's all about worshiping God & not about the congregation or how good the band are, tho these things do help. Funny you calling it a gig. I did too when I first got saved.

Ideally, you should go & try all the amps out (thru your own cab if poss) & then get what you find suits you. I'd also look at a 2nd hand LMII or Dave's SA450 for that extra £50, they're definitely worth it.

Looking lush! For a second there I thought you had two MF-101s! (now that could be interesting). Ever tried a MuRF? You might get good use out of a Bass or Midi MuRF as you can tempo sync them (BM only via CV or click, so could be taken from your existing click. The MM via Midi as well). Might be worth an investigation. I've got the BM & love it, but in the current band the sequencer on it doesn't get used enough for my liking. It does get used for filtered sweepy & OD sounds alot tho

Here's a belated welcome to BC.

Like Pete says, a small class D head is a good option. You should pick one up for @ £3-400 s/h on here. A couple of hundred should get you a decent wee cab, tho you might be better looking at a non neo 2x10 for £2-300. Other option is something like a Markbass combo s/h (usually around the £600 mark depending) or a wee Genz rig maybe.

I thought it was pretty amazing, looper or no looper. I really didn't expect that voice from someone who looks like Will from the Inbetweeners!
