  1. Not with the KK specifically but done it loads of times with various Fishman, Headway, Radial etc boxes and never had an issue so i'm sure the KK will work. The sound guy may make you plug into a DI box from the KK
  2. i've used a Boss bass guitar graphic EQ pedal in the past which I switched on when playing arco. I found that scooping the mid a little made it sound more 'natural'
  3. If they're Evah Mittel you could switch to the lower tension Weich. I made the same switch and didn't notice too much of a volume drop off when playing orchestral music. If you want even lower tension you could try Solos tuned down but I noticed a significant reduction in volume when i tried it with some Kaplan solos, they did have a nice arco tone though
  4. Gary bought a P bass mirror scratchplate, great comms and speedy payment, Enjoy embracing your inner Phil Lynott! Alex
  5. Martyn Bailey did mine, i shopped around a fair bit and he was very reasonably priced and did a great job. I've had the extension on my bass for nearly 10 years now. No complaints I paid in the region of £500 for an extension with all 4 capos
  6. i bought a Spirocore E string of Karl. Great comms and speedy postage. Perfect!

  9. Rory bought my Fender Mustang bass off me. Great comms and very easy to arrange a meet up. enjoy the bass! alex
  10. Have been informed that the 42 on stamped on the pots mean the bass is from the first half of 1984
  11. Squier Classic Vibe 70's Precision Bass Made in China 2014 Lovely bass but I have too many P basses and this one doesn't get played enough. Lots of scratches but only cosmetic. Strung with Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwounds. The previous owner installed an EMG Geezer Butler pickup and loom which sounds great. The bass is really nice to play and feels really well built, i used it mainly as a backup bass. Free postage! Cheers, Alex
  12. Can't work out how to embed the pictures into the post, sorry! Sorted now!
  13. Squier SQ Precision Bass Made in Japan 1983/84 I'm reluctantly putting this lovely bass up for sale but the funds are needed elsewhere and I have 2 other P basses. As far as i know it is all original, lots of scratches but only cosmetic. Bass recently had complete set up, overhaul and new nut by Stephen Hawker in Bristol. Strung with LaBella 760FS flats. The bass is an absolute joy to play and gets a classic Jamerson tone. I would say the neck is a bit slimmer than a lot of P basses i've played. I've tried to show everything in the pictures. Comes with a hard case. Would prefer collection/meet halfway but will post at buyers expense. Cheers, Alex
  14. I bought an MXR preamp pedal from Sam, great to deal with! Cheers
  15. I bought Martin's Beatle Bass strings. Great comms and super fast postage. 👍😎
  16. I tend to use a bit of wood or a brick to prop up my right leg when playing sat down in a theatre pit. Might treat myself to a foot stool though actually...
  17. I bought Duncan’s USA 5 string jazz. Great guy to deal with!
  18. Astral Weeks by Van Morrison (the whole album) - I find the freedom that Richard Davis plays with on the album very inspiring especially as when backing singer songwriter type stuff I find it can sometimes be hard to come up with lines that aren't just root notes.
  19. Daniel bough a Sansamp Bass Driver from me. Great communication and very easy to deal with. Enjoy the pedal! 😎
  20. I bought an EHX Bass Balls pedal from Ben. Great communication and super quick postage. Thanks! Alex
  21. I bought an MXR bass compressor pedal from Paul. Great communication and speedy delivery. Thanks! Alex
  22. I've owned and gigged both the copper Realist and wooden version on the same bass. One thing to note is that the wooden version is a couple of mm thick and doesn't compress like the copper version, meaning that it slightly increases the bridge height on the E side. Doesn't sound like a lot but it was noticeable (as I didn't have an adjustable bridge at the time) when playing and I didn't like it, may have got used to it if i'd stuck it out though... Sound wise they were both quite similar but to me the wood version sounded more hollow somehow. I ended up switching to the copper version which sounded more like 'my bass but louder' at low volumes at least. I don't use a Realist anymore as I found it quite prone to feedback at higher volumes and I couldnt get a decent usable tone when needing to play loud. Ended up switching to a Fishman Full Circle that is a lot more feedback resistant, got it fitted by a luthier who also converted my bridge to an adjustable one at the same time. A KK BassMax is a cheaper option that is also quite feedback resistant. Hope that helps, Alex
  23. Cool vid. I reckon no. 3 and possibly no. 1 are P basses.
