the aguilar db750 is a beast! i use it with my ampeg 610 so loud! but can be gritty if i push the gain enough. andy

ok cool that sounds fine. is there any truth to what i heard about gain based effects going in the effects loop? im gonna mix a metal muff in using the effects loop? andy

i know its not all valve! but i love my aguilar db750! sounds beastly with my 610hlf and believe me its defiantly loud enough to go past two guitarists and an insanely loud drummer. also gets gritty when you crank the gain, not to the level of say an orange ad200b, but enough that its not clean. and it sounds really nice uber clean with some chorus! when i got mine i a/b'd it with a ampeg cl and it blew it out of the water! seriously i can't say enough good things about it! andy

Theres nothing worse than too many fx going on at once.[/quote] +1! i used to have a boss tu-2 now have a tu-3 awesome tuner and also it can power 7 other pedals! yeh chorus is a nice start ive got a crappy behringer one and it does a nice job tbh! and i think it only cost about have what a boss chorus cost or you could just get a multi effects pedal and see what effects you like plus a friend of mine has a me-50b? i think thats what it is and that has a tuner built in so you get the lot! andy

just been looking on the net, and it says to stay away from distortion in your effects loop? anyone know about the phase of a ehx metal muff? as thats what i want to blend in with my clean signal? andy

I would also love to own a Bongo 5 HH.[/quote] i like the sound of the bongo! my modulus is very loud in the mix to so its helped sort my sloppiness (a bit anyway!) so the idea of a HH bongo is a possible goer! and incase people are wandering i dnt mind the styling at all! although i do like the sound of this growl thats in older rays! whats the norm for string spacing on the sr5's? 17mm? as im used to 19mm with my mody. andy

apart from the first bass i had! ive never felt the urge to play a fiver, but recently ive been watching alot of videos and hearing parts in my bands music where i could use the lower notes that a five string bass would give me. but as i said ive only really played one 5 string which was made by axl, and was a bad musicman copy. ive played for fun a spector six string which was nice but only played it for 5 mins so could really tell if i liked it. theres obviously the big names like musicman, zon and warwick, but alot of these i cant try with out going along way so want to kinda have a bit of info on them before i travel etc. im gonna try and save up about 2000? so basically looking for what you guys and girls would go for in the five string market with that amount to spend? i play hard rock so looking for something that would suit that, and just encase your wandering in currently playing a modulus fb4, i have considered getting a fb5 but i would be unable to try it before shelling out the money so it might be a no go. andy
