1. Thats a fine looking design! Nice work. I'm a P-bass man myself but I like the shape of this. Eyecatching and original. Reminds me a bit of a Curbow which I also like. Ive had a look at your website Paul and you do some quality workmanship by the look of it. I've bookmarked it should I decide to get a custom job done myself. Will be keeping a eye on this discussion as it looks like an interesting project. Best, Rog
2. Voted. Very nice variety and quality this month. Well done too you all! Cheers and all the best for new year. Rog
3. I've always run a clean set up with no fx or anything. Always suited me and Ive never needed to change my sound. But thats just me! Rog
4. Page for me. The mans a legend! Although he's getting on a bit now like me :-) Rog
5. Voted again. Same as last time. Seems some people are getting their nickers in a twist over this! Hope alls friendly at the end of it, be a shame if not. Peace and good luck all! Rog
6. Well you are a talented lot aren't you? puts me to shame. Just finished listening to them all an they're all very good. Not a duff track amongst them. Lots of great technique on display but there was one that stood out for me as being a case of just good song writing with plenty of soul and that's what got my vote. Might try me hand at this in the new year - if I'm plating bass at all By then (got a hospital op that'll be deciding that in few weeks time). I'll make it my new year resolution to have a go if alls well! Best, Rog
7. Another P bass player here! Some nice gear in this thread. I'll add a photo of mine when I work put how.
8. Always fancied a Rick myself. Very distinctive sound.
9. Got it meself in both ears. Some days worse than others but I've learned to live with it. If I'd known better when I was younger I'd have been more careful. Same goes for a lot of things!
10. Nothing wrong with Mustang Sally. People know it and they get up and dance to it. Job done.
11. I thought he was great! Still an inspiration after all these years.
12. Cheers for the welcome gents. I don't have any recording gear but I've noticed lots of advice on here for getting started on the cheap. So maybe next time!
13. Cheers gents! Yeah my P-bass keeps my idle hands busy ;-) Always wanted a jazz to get a matching pair but can't stretch to one right now. Must keep out if the sales thread here or I'll be tempted! Cheers, Rog
14. Love vinyl myself but purely for nostalgia as others have said. Got plenty of old records that crackle like a log fire!
15.
Surely she's not that bad ...?
ha ha! No but it probably works the other way :-)
16. Military family here so this topic gets my vote. Not in the forces myself but father was and brother currently serving. Best wishes to all our troops overseas.
17. I've only got the one a Precision and it's all I've ever need! ;-)
18. Just joined here. Too late for me to enter this and I wouldn't know where to start anyway! Good luck to you all. Some nice entries so far!
19. P-bass player here! Can't fault them. Horses for courses and all that but I doubt I'll ever switch away from them.
20. Just watching it now with the missus...praying for a powercut! ;-)
21. Hello Basschat. Precision player here. Been out of practice for a long time but just picking it up again. Been browsing here for a while and decided to sign up as it seems like a good forum! I'm open to all music but my roots are mainly metal and hard rock. Looking forward to talking BS with you all! Rog
