1. Sorry for going OT a bit, but it's interesting to finally see the innards of the Compact cabs Alex!
2. No worries mate, you'll be first in line!
3. I've just got one- a NEOX-212T that is! Just traded my pair of Aguilar GS112s for it earlier this evening with Alan AKA niceguyhomer (who's a lovely bloke by the way!)- first impressions are... WOW!
4. Nice one, thanks mate!
5. Did you buy this then Dave?
6. 2u Rack Case now sold to Al AKA Walman. Thanks to everyone who either bought or expressed interest in the goods!
7. I owned a Landmark 300 for about 5 years and loved just about everything about it- it never let me down once in all the time I owned it- not even a blown fuse! Very versatile amp- I only sold mine because I needed a bit more headroom... This is one of the best built, best sounding pieces of kit I've used- like pretty much everything else that Tech 21 make IMO! I currently use a BDDI and a VT Bass pedal, and neither of them are going anywhere... Hey Cetera, I'm just going a bit OT here, but how does the Landmark 600 sound with your NEOX-212T, and do you use the tweeter at all? I'm looking into getting one of these cabs at the moment, and want to know if they can bring the grind for pickstyle hard rock? I'm not a fan of horns, so need the grind from the drivers (like it's meant to be!). Does it deliver the goods?
8. When I owned these, I found that one cab with some low-end boost could easily keep up with a loud band for onstage volume (our guitarist plays through either a cranked-up Vox combo or a Bassman 50 head with a Torres 4x10!). The sound of both cabs together is something else however, take it from me! I depped for a mate's covers band one Saturday evening last year, playing a wedding in a large hotel function room. The band rarely use the subs with their PA, so it was up to the Bergs and my Little Mark II to carry the low-end. I got the longest lead I could find during soundcheck, and walked as far back from the stage with my Jazz Bass as I could whilst we ran through some tunes. Best FOH sound I've ever had without PA support- The tone was full yet punchy, and projected really well into the room. The onstage sound was pretty damn good too, although I'm glad I brought my earplugs... You're going to love gigging these Michael!
9. I use a GRAMMA Pad and am very pleased with it! I've been using it on my band's quiet gigs (we play 2 nights a week in a cocktail bar with a sound limiter that cuts out if somebody farts, so DI/monitors only allowed!)- I use it underneath the monitor that I share with our drummer's electronic kit, and it's made a BIG difference! Using it has cut out most of the boominess of the hollow stage that was creating havoc with the band's onstage sound, and everyone can hear themselves better as a result. Well worth it IMO, whether you buy one or make your own...
10. I'm not a fan of tweeters either I must say- I always prefer them completely off. Not even the ones in my Berg HS210's (now WaterofTyne's) could convert me, but then again the drivers in those cabs are so good, you'd rarely need to use them anyway... However... I've just bought a pair of 2nd-hand Aguilar GS112's which have tweeters fitted, and I've found that because the drivers don't reach up as high as the Bergs do, I've had to dial a smidge into the top cab for a bit of detail when using my Jazz Bass for certain styles. I'm gigging both of them with my Shuttle 6.0 this weekend, so I'll hopefully get a better idea of how they fit into the mix at volume...
11. That is indeed an amazing rig you have there Michael- glad I could fix you up with them! I'll bet the M-pulse sounds incredible through the Bergs, hopefully I'll get to hear it someday... I've replaced these beauties with a brace of 2nd-hand Aguilar GS112s- I'm liking them so far, but then again I haven't cranked them up on a gig yet! Will put that right on Sunday though...
12. I bought a pair of Aguilar GS112's from Mark last Wednesday evening, and am very pleased with them so far! We spent a good few hours chatting away, and indulged in a mini gear-fest before doing the deal (I brought my Nordstrand-loaded US Jazz and Squier JV P-Bass along, whilst Mark owns a lovely Overwater fretted 4 and a gorgeous custom fretless 4!)- We both agreed that the combination of my GB Shuttle 6.0 with the Aggies made for one killer compact rig! Mark was a very hospitable seller, and it was an absolute pleasure to meet him, his wife, and their cat!
13. Had a good look round and couldn't find a feedback thread for Bob, so let me start things off... I bought a Tacoma Thunderchief ABG from Bob last Saturday- I drove down with my girlfriend to his place in Tewkesbury to pick it up, and found him to be a lovely fellow with a collection of instruments to die for (and I only saw a few of them! ). Great communication throughout the deal, an honest seller, and makes a great cup of tea- what more can you ask for? Etienne
14. Thanks guys, it was a pleasure to meet you both! Bob, I used the Thunderchief live for the first time on a radio session yesterday- it was mic'ed up and sounded huge through the headphones! Hopefully it translated well across the airwaves too... Michael, well we got there in the end! It was very nice to meet you (briefly, anyway!)- I hope your family enjoyed their day out, and let me know how you get on with the cabs!

I just sold my Bergantino HS210's to Michael today- met up with him in Bingley and found him to be a most decent chap! Great communication throughout- the deal took a while to sort out for various personal and logistical reasons, but Michael was very honest and kept me in the loop at all times. Would definitely deal with him again... hope you enjoy the Bergs mate! Etienne
16. Greg just took delivery of my amp stand today- it was a pleasure to do business with you sir! ps I'm not actually a Scouser- more a refugee from Milton Keynes!
17. Thanks to all three of you for the smooth deals! Enjoy your new toys...
18. Bump! 2U Flightcase still available folks! Mike wanted to buy this, but unfortunately there is no possible way of shoehorning an Ampeg SVT-3 inside, unless you hacksaw vital bits off it... Just to reiterate, I reckon you could fit a head of up to 11" in depth- possibly 11.5" at a pinch. A Tech 21 Landmark 300 fits beautifully, and so will many Gallien-Krueger heads (although you may have to drill some holes in the case above where the fan would be).
19. Agreed, that's crazy money- even for an example as sweet as Jojo's! I paid £300 for mine a year ago after finding it in a shop in Darlington- I must admit I felt pretty smug walking out the shop! Mine's the '57 version in white with a maple neck- I put my '79 maple-necked Fender P (a really nice one too!) up for sale after A/B'ing it against the JV- that's how good I think it is!
20. PM's replied... Amp stand sold to Greg AKA Shaggy! I wonder if I can make it 4 out of 4 before midnight?
21. BUGGER!
22. Speaker now sold to Paul AKA Prosebass- this is going well, isn't it?
