  1. I'm a great buyer and a poor seller if I see one ,one or two messages securing price and getting it and its a done deal selling,as I am ,I've had lot of message tennis asking this that and the other ,non of which I would so I get a bit bored to the point i'll probably withdraw the ads . I tend to like basses aesthetically ,someone said on here its crazy not to know what pick ups etc ,why ? If I did It wouldn't be a deal breaker .Buy wisely and if it isn't to your taste sell it is my experience
  2. Haven't forgotten as such but loved all the punk stuff when I was starting out Nearly always prominent and busy Damned ,SLF,Stranglers, buzzcocks
  3. Aye ,its big,i play it straight but those slides are so dirty
  4. Had a 111A fretless new in early 80s Too many knobs and too short a top horn for me,end of neck miles away
  5. As a bloke playing £1000 plus basses I've been well impressed with 2 Squiers ,A vm jazz 4 and a 5er .Top quality build and sound
  6. Waterfall in those rehearsals sounds like heyday Simon and Garfunkel .The drums and those backing vocals are amazing
  7. Limbo land I suppose .Remember the comeback and thinking, his voice will be shot and it will all be a bit lacklustre .Far from it
  8. Had my 75 jazz from 1983 until 2006 ,pretty much my main bass all that time Sold it because I needed the money for company shares .They've gave me 10 fold back and I realised the bass wasn't the wonderful thing I thought it was Now nothing is more than a guitar to use and enjoy and sell if I so wish .
  9. On Channel 4 at the mo,on catch up I was around when they were in the 90s and liked the stuff I heard without being a devotee I was genuinely surprised watching this at how good a band they were /are .Some great rehearsal footage and Mani's sound is too die for .Using old Epiphones and tasty Boogie rigs .Lovely rumble on my TV set up Worth a watch ,great live jam near the end at the Heaton park gig .Mani really holding it all down
  10. I like the "where is it" aspect of my Bassblock .Especially when it disappears into my leads bag
  11. Zillions of fenders out there ,plus people have more than one bass and will change quite often .More so than amps perhaps ?
  12. Main problem for me is I hate the look .Just looks tacky and cheap (in my opinon of course )
  13. New price £1200
  14. Price drop £1300
  15. 3rd gig of weekend yesterday 4pm ,what is usually the smallest bar we play turned into the lovely garden area out the back Our lovely rig will have been reverberating around the Durham hills and valleys
  16. 😊,I'm getting on now so I'm past regrets ,my gig to basses owned ratio is a bit skewiff but you have a point It's coming out tonight for a Zep /Ac/dc show
  17. Gary Moore Empty rooms another good one for pace and slides
  18. This is a great song to play Easy ,nice tempo and lovely slides to the notes Rather than peer at the neck listen for the note landing on that slide I play unlined purely for looks and mostly for fun
  19. They are If other stuff sells first it's staying put Needs must
  20. Easter bump Open to sensible offers
  21. Few trade offers but still for sale
  22. Very similar to a 75 I had ,great profile and the finish is spot on
  23. As said,i've rarely used the active Treble and Bass boost .Prefer the boost tap on my Tonebone or just digging in as i'm a light player
  24. Pre vtc. Yeah quite heavy ..the plus of that is the tone Wide strap keeps everything right
