  1. @stevie is developing a lower cost 10" cab and that would probably go really well with the Gnome/Elf etc.
  2. You're nicked! I was writing with my tongue pushing out my cheek, ever, so slightly.
  3. Well this is something I never thought I would discuss on BC. The Oxford Comma goes against everything I was taught at school. Incorrect use of commas was the precursor (or should that be pre-cursor?) of a wooden board rubber hurled, at close to the speed of light, towards the offending head. However it doe add clarity to many sentences a is explained very well here https://www.rd.com/article/oxford-comma-proper-use/. The purpose of writing or speaking is communication, (Oxford Comma) and as long as the meaning is clear, then who cares? Maybe a polite DM to the author of any offending piece would be a kinder way to point out his/her error. Of course discussions about the Oxford Comma, and its use, will not be tolerated.
  4. That 6 year rule is a hangover from EU membership. Probably some of the “ Red Tape” that we “need” to get rid of.
  5. Sometimes I get hacked off that everyone gets the same especially as I lug and set up the PA most gigs but it saves any hassle. Mamy years ago I was acting as roadie, PA hire co and sound man for a local band. I also attended every rehearsal. As a result I got 1/5 share, they were a 4 piece. At some point one of the WAGS got to hear of the arrangement. The result, I was asked to do it pro-bono. Needless to say we parted company.
  6. I always equate Salisbury with Salem. Sarum Salem?
  7. If you play a lot of rocky type covers that one fits best IMHO
  8. The song only really makes sense if its sung by a man, especially if you know the back story.
  9. Maybe cos they can't play like Jack Cassady.
  10. The one song that Skynyrd recorded that was a waste of vinyl IMHO.
  11. Sorry only just seen this thread. I agree will all but Hey Joe but then I have never had to play it in a band.
  12. The Rebbels played The Cock Inn in Warminster last night. We have not played together for about a month and in the meantime I have had the nasty bug that is going around and could not pick up the bass for long periods. I admit it was a trial and not one of our best although the audience loved it. The room was hard floors throughout and the sound was a bit bass light initially. My rig was LFSys Monza 10, with a Bugera Head fed from my Marcus Miller M2 via the Zoom B2-4. As the bass has active electronics, I was able to push a little low end to get to where I wanted to be. It was a struggle for me, especially second half, but I got through with a few more pink torpedo ups than usually. Despite all this they want us back.... To top off a hard night, the rain was biblical and a 1 hour 10 minute journey home took closer to two hours with the road of Wiltshire and Dorset trying desperately, in cahoots with the rain, to aquaplane me into a ditch/hedge. Maybe it will not be raining next time1
  13. Real Gaffa Tape is low tack and does not stick. The cheap stuff sold as gaffa tape is really duct tape.. See https://advancetapes.com/products/gloss-cloth-tape-advance-gaffa/
  14. Yes its rattles and no its not noisy. I don't have ZNR on any patch and I cannot hear noise on a good pair of headphones. However if you use extreme drives etc (which I don't) you may hear something that I don't.
  15. I have older iPhone and iPad but I have the camera adaptor that allows the same thing. I will try it shortly.
  16. Do you mean it runs off USB C?
  17. Of course he won't, he would be restricted to piano and organ parts then rather than trying to do everything.
  18. The time is something I think will come good after time. However, this is exactly my experience, partly caused by several cases of Ludititus.
  19. It can make some funny ( funny strange not funny hilarious) noises when the battery is low. However it is small enough, like the Zoom B1 series, to fit in a gig-bag pocket. I gigged one for several years. It can be used with a power supply too.
  20. I have both the Zoom B1-4 and B2-4, I did buy the B2-4 for the XLR/DI Output but the sound of the effects is just a little better on the B2-4 but I could, and have, used the B1-4 before with an Orchid DI. The BDI21 is also a good shout. I have a thread elsewhere showing how to mod them to smooth out the smiley face.
  21. Me too. I am waiting for a certificate from Greta😀
  22. Yup my lot are dinosaurs. I have just got them on to Active Speakers but still have grumbles about no faders on the mixer. I would gladly put an axe through the Rythym Guitarist's Vox combo. Saying that the drummer, also the oldest member of the band, would love to use over the ear headphones.
  23. Did you plants some trees?
  24. The replacement bass arrived on Saturday and a quick look suggests a keeper. All my concerns on the first one have gone and with no adjustment I could gig with this one. I will change the strings, they are light gauge and of a standard that you would expect form a £150 bass. I will do a full review in the reviews section later. However here are a few things: The hardware, bridge and machine heads seem OK and the machine heads are better than the stock ones on my Marcus Miller M2, a bass almost twice the price. The frets are smooth and reasonably well rounded, no sharp edges. The finger board is flat, 15" radius and the edges are not rounded. It is also a P bass width, 42mm at the nut. While I like a thinner neck, it is not a big problem. The neck is fatter than both my Aerodyne and M2 but its not a baseball bat like some P basses I have tried. The pickup is OK and the tone control does go from bright to really soft/dull. As with the neck, the body does not have the curve that the real Aerodynes have but that does not really detract from the look. It also means you can choose a traditional bridge without modding the body, although whether there will be cosmetic damage showing from the exiting individual bridge pieces, I do not know. As I said earlier I could gig this bass if the strings were changed but all in all a remarkable instrument for the money. Is it a Harley Benton beater? It is about the same standard. I have HB guitars that were good but not perfect and like them this has one small issue, the end of the fingerboard is not perfectly finished. However a coupe of strokes with a nail file should sort that. I will put lots of pictures on the review but I will add a few here later. One comment on the finish, it is lighter in colour than the G4M website picture as can be seen on the pictures above of the bass I returned.
