1. Hello, I've been trying to find where I can get a truss rod cover for my Fretless Overwater. I managed to break mine but I don't think it was the original cover anyway. The Pick up covers are in Ebony and I think that would look better on the truss cover. All my searches come up with branded or custom stuff and most from abroad. Is there no one in the uk who can sort me out with a plain Ebony truss cover?
2. I think...in the old days a rush record (vinyl) had 8 songs tops, 4 each side and all of them were class. When CD's came out there was some kind of rule you had to put 12+ songs on it! Hence the countless Rush album fillers.
3. I'd like to think I support small business but sometimes you have to ask what the benefits of paying more for the same bass online. My last purchase was from Guitar Guitar which matched any internet price so that was good. Also I'd rather see and play what I was getting before I pay for it.
4. Welcome Chris, better late than never. I hope you checked out the marketplace before parting with your cash to evilbay Cheers Leen.
5.
Has anybody caught any of the shows on this current tour? I was at the Trades Club in Hebden Bridge last night and had a great evening. Superb set, great band including a really good bass player whose name I just can't remember atm I'm sorry to say, but he learned the whole set in less than a week including some of the more complex Tull stuff (TAAB). The venue was really good too, intimate with a good PA and the added bonus of a selection of real ales. What's not to like.
I saw him at a festival this summer (Cropredy) A great set of re-worked/tweaked Tull numbers. Heavy on the blues but some great standards. The bass player had learned the set in a few days we were told as Ex Tull bass guy Jonathan Noyce couldn't make it or something.
6. Hello Coolwire, I'm sure you will find answers an this forum, but not necessarily in the intros page. http://basschat.co.uk/forum/5-amps-and-cabs/ try this. Oh yes........welcome to basschat! Cheers Leen.
7. Right...stay calm everyone........Richard,......stop what your doing.........step away from the bass, carefull now.....step away i say! It's okay, I'm an ex Guitard and I love overwaters too! You no doubt have checked out the marketplace and the basses for sale page, thats where you post your ad. The Overwaters are beautiful basses, take some nice pics to go with the ad and research the price, remember though, it's only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Basschat is a safe place to do business, i've sold 2 basses here without any problems. Just use common sense in the market..........darn...sorry, i forgot you were a guitard! Well... take care. Cheers Leen.
8.
will donate 2 GBP to this site for each pack of strings sold here. Zak
Thats very generous of you, shipping to the uk can be pricey! Welcome to the forum anyway and set up in the marketplace.....I may visit you there when I'm in need!
9. Welcome Chris, progressive is the way to the light! There are great prog bands from Sweden, Opeth and Freak Kitchen (matius erklund) are a couple I really like. Enjoy the forum. Cheers Leen.
10. Greetings Claudio, Prog rock from Italy is big these days, we were lucky enough to get in the magazine 'Hard rock' and on the CD. Our Guitarist is from Bari so that helped. Enjoy the forum. Cheers Leen.
11.
This was the second mentioning of Vesters in just a few week
Now a third mention......Welcome Gingerbear, one of my first basses was a vester, I sold it here earlier this year. I never saw a 5 str version though. Also I'm not sure you can call coldplay or Jamiroquai rock or was that just a typo? Cheers and enjoy the place Leen
12.
For a change I'm not commenting with a video of myself playing but thought I'd just chime in how great it is that everyone's able to be posting completely different videos from a range of venues, entirely different genres, different gear, playing levels and most importantly a rich variety of facial hair and that we in the bass world seem to have nothing but good feedback to give each other. Well done us and nice one to all the recent videos there's some really cracking stuff here lately.
What a thoroughly nice chap you are for saying so and I'll add my +1 to all that too
13.

Was that a festival of awesome facial fuzz?? Good stuff!
14.
So you play bass, eh?
Yeah, i thought I'd better mention that. Sorry if your thinking 'oh not another bloody bass player on this forum'!
15.
I might tap my foot a bit. Don't want to end up like this guy:
I did that with a washburn guitar once, snapped the head clean off.....damn you steve vai!
16. I went to see a bill of 4 shouty metal bands on the weekend. The headline band are a fairly new tech metal band called the safety fire. Awesome band along the Periphery style tech stuff. What amazes me is how the bass player can fling his bass around and still pump out those difficult rhythms! One of the young support bands bass player was this big tall dude who pretty much jumped around like a gorilla on speed but never missed an obvious beat! I manage to sometimes walk backwards when i play but that's about it for me! Would be interesting to hear what the rest of you do.
17. Bah! no speakers on my work pc!!! will listen when i get home....i love rush covers!
18.
Just copy and paste the message into your own feedback page
I don't know about that, it would look like i'm making up my own feedback.
19. As our singer works at a school we get the music room. And we have a deal that our lefty drummer lets the one lefty student who's learning drums use his kit at lessons for a discount. It's warm, dry, safe and cheaper than other permanent rooms i've had. Also through the school we have had the use of a drama room for a video we shot and our singer uses the vocal booth for our recordings at no extra cost!
20. I love this album and I was really hoping that with the string section on the lastest tour they might play 'losing it' but no. I got into Rush when this was the 'new' album so maybe its why I love it so much.
21. My last sale I got an email saying how great my packaging etc was but no feedback here! I didnt wand to go begging for it so I left it.
22. Greetings Pat, Can you not introduce jazz to the Church, some free form might get bums on seats?? Enjoy the forum Cheers Leen.
