[/quote] My MJW is essentially a GT200 with dirtier (Ampeg-ish) front end options to get that articulation and poke you mention. Filthiest amp I've ever played. GT200 with BF cabs makes a lot of sense and overcomes the "power limitations" of having just 4 x KT88s

I've gigged one and it is more than adequate through my Barefaced SIX10. I usually use a Mesa 400+ or a Laney Nexus and it was able to match them in volume however compared to big valve monsters it's like alcohol-free beer. I use the Nano as a gigbag backup in case the real amps have issues. It came in useful one time and did a splendid job. The band is a loud rock covers band.

Has anyone tried or gigged one of these? http://philjonesbass.com/product/ear-box/ I use massive rigs and am always struggling to hear my sound mainly because I'm standing. Ext to it in a tiny venue or small stage. Is this a solution? Any input much appreciated. Gimmick or life-changing must-have cure-all elixir.

I'm a dyed-in-the-wool PJ player and I couldn't get on with the Aerodyne because: 1. The bound edges are uncomfortable. 2. The stock pups are really weedy. I swapped mine for Fralins and this then brought out the real sound of the bass... 3. The sound of the bass for whatever reason (basswood body perhaps?) didn't click with me. 4. You can't fit an aftermarket bridge without some fettling. The stock bridge is very good though. It looks stunning and has a great neck. -
