NBW: Harley Davidson B550FL, new one to replace the Dodgy B stock one Thomann took back.

Suggested a new song to the ska band earlier ("She's Kerosene" by The Interruptors). Sax player said she doesn't want to do it because there are no "nice chords".
WTF is a 'nice' chord?

Finally joined the Covid club. Feeling utterly dreadful

So my Evri delivery which at first 'couldn't be delivered' even before they'd picked up from the seller (300 miles away), and which was then guaranteed for Thursday, is now happening Friday. And we all know when Friday deliveries arrive - Monday.
-
Now if I hadn't been pessimistic.... but as it is I was and so a very nice young Evriman turned up Friday lunchtime with my sax. In one piece, despite the vendor assuming bin liners wrapped around the sax in its thin cheap case would be adequate protection from gravity and malice. And remarkably, a single address label which barely stuck to said black plastic and finally fell off as Evriman handed me the parcel. Somedays life is against me, sometimes not.

Just got word that UPS is picking up my new bass at Andy Baxter's today. Can't wait.

I just called the paranoia hotline.
A guy answered "how the hell did you get this number‽".

Should I sell my spare head? Been wondering for a while. I have a Markbass LM3 & a Markbass LM800. I generally use the LM3 for gigs etc, and the LM800 for practice. How many amps have you got? Ever thought of shifting them? Do I need two amps, or should I shop one in? Hmm…thoughts?

Shower of bastards.

Yup. Once on a long haul a hosty stood with all her weight on my sprawled out ankle in the middle of the night. When it was still giving me gyp a couple of weeks later I wrote a polite letter (actually looking for an apology, nothing more), and got a reply more or less inviting me to join their 'sex and travel' club.

Just made a list of all the basses I’ve owned - 20 over 28 years. That’s OK, isn’t it? 😎

NBT Cort A6, yay

As binky_bass says, its at the very bottom of the upmarket boutique six pile. It's mostly very good quality, although my older one has the two part bridge, which is a mare to adjust. And I'm not a fan of thick glossy finishes. EQ offers a massive range of sounds. Far from being hard to play it's transforming my playing for the better for reasons I don't yet understand. I took it to a practice because my main bass is being fixed but the Cort perfomed so well it's going to be my main axe frokm now on. Glad I bought it, on a whim. Thanks whim.

Just weighed my Harley Benton JB40FL. 10.6 lbs!! Now I may have set up the weigher thing wrong but if not... Great bass, good sound, amazing value - and virtually unusable for a crumbly like me cos of weight.

I was being silly gentlespoons. But it has to be said The Harvey Wallbanger is a glory, especially for £138 new inc VAT. While I am sure there are cheapnesses somewhere - electrics, dunno? the fit, finish and performance are not far off Sire at thrice the price and I haven't found a single thing yet where I've castigated myself for buying cheap. Relief, string height and intonation spot on out the box. My main bass for three years now has been a Revelation (£199 new, I bought £120 sh) which has been a ... well, a Revelation. So now I have two great basses for £258 new. 'strawdinary.
