  1. Absolutely gorgeous bass but unfortunately not for me... I'll tweak my ad to say that I'm more after an 80s Status.
  2. Pretty sure it's a solo performance so will be acoustic guitar...no full band or bass playing I expect.
  3. Yep - his bass playing is very unusual. The bass is fundamental to how the music sounds; lots of interesting pedals/suspensions/inversions. They always were a cut above, the Sprouts. And the early stuff is bonkers, in a very good way. Stingray ahoy...
  4. Seconded - At their best, they're up there with the best of the best in my book.
  5. Here's a bump - it's Paddy's birthday today. Martin is doing a nationwide solo tour in Oct/Nov performing his favourites from the Sprout catalogue (quite a lot to choose from). Paddy is still suffering from Meniere's I gather. What a fantastic band....and Martin's a Stingray man no less
  6. @woodinblack Many thanks! First time for me to have someone trying to hack my BC account...
  7. Not sure if anyone else experienced this but I had two automated messages last night from [email protected] saying several attempts had been made to access my account.
  8. Thanks all - the ideal is equidistant between the band mates which is in that sort of Orpington-esque area, maybe a bit further around the M25 anti-clockwise. Seems a bit of blank space as far as rehearse; spaces go. But if anyone has any ideas in that zone, do let me know!
  9. Thanks all. Looks like Abbey Wood is having to close which is a shame. Shall investigate!
  10. (thought this might be better as a new post under a specific title, sorry about bumping the one below) Any recommendations for a nice studio space to the SE of London/NW fringes of Kent? Somewhere with good backline/PA/parking? Like Ritz in Putney but SE, ideally. Not sure it exists but on the lookout for a nice place to make noise between Kent and SE London... Hoping to accommodate band members who are a bit, erm, spread out

  13. Was this available 2 hrs ago? I'm interested in one of these....
  14. Just saw this pop up and thought I should mention that I bought a German Club, regretfully sold it...and I've just gone and bought another one (this time a 2005 in LTD Ed black). FANTASTIC basses
  15. I like the idea of a Wimbish one day!
  16. Wonderful player. RIP
  17. ON HOLD Price drop to £95 Up for sale is my series V Trace AH250. In decent nick with all buttons working (and functioning blacklight). The enclosure is a bit cosmetically challenged (but not too bad given its age) Pick up or meet up nearish as it weighs a fair bit. All worth it though if you want that chunky Trace SS tone.
  18. Ah I love these basses. And anytime a Sabre appears on the forum I get to link to this Squarepusher video
  19. So great. Still miss my Special V to this day. Lots of ziiinnnng and grrrrrr in these basses
  20. Yup - overnight ferry to Santander with the bass in the back of the car (size permitting of course) then a car trip to the destination arriving with a happy bass! NB - check how hot and humid it might be on arrival and possibly humidify the instrument as it might react to the humidity shift
  21. Scaler is great - I particularly like 'binding' the keyboard notes to the key to work on melodies. A really interesting piece of software
  22. Fantastic bass. 80s BBs and TRBs are among the best built basses out there!
  23. Looks fantastic!
