1.
To be honest, it's like that with most cabs I've played it through. The lows are tight, the emphasis in on the meat of the mids which is where you get you cut in the mix It definitely DOESN'T sound nasally in mids, just present. One more thing, the DI on this amp is stunning. Like, really really good! As is the headphone amp built in.
Totally agree about the DI, it is probably the best micro head DI that I have ever used
2. Nice cab great shop, love the FRIENDLY service they deliver
3. There is a very nice looking ae212 in the for sale section... Great cab with a lovely hifi tone and very reasonable price as well
4. Dave just bought my polytune great guy to deal with, many thanks Ian
5.
I had a Staccato which I liked a lot. I sold it to buy the RH750, what a great amp. I sold it to buy my 750 watt Thunderfunk. All my bands liked the TC sound I got. Unfortunately the TF trumped the lot. I know nothing about TC cabs.
I found the staccato to be a very fussy amp, the huge low end that was baked in to it just did not suit a lot of cabs, the only cabs that I could get it to sound decent with was the ML112 or the 112mnt, any cab with a warm voicing sounded muddy and boomy with that head. RH450 I never bought but found when demo'd to be lacking any sizzle due to the baked in lpf. The concept of these amps are great I just find the execution to be a little disappointing!
6. I think it will do that quite well but don't expect any sub bass due to the high passing that is built in, nice amps.....
7. Lots if power and great features, there is an inherent graininess to the sound that cannot be dialled out no matter what you do, even with tube tone switched off. Ok if you like that but it it no clean machine!
8. The hot DI was an issue for the early Terror 500, I understand that these issues were resolved a couple of years ago and should not affect the Terror 1000 as it is more recent
9.
How you getting on with it?
Awesome piece of kit, I let my old one go, big mistake! It is like coming home
10. I know someone around North Leicester if that is of any use?
11. Did not win, I was at work and missed out
12. Is this unit also on eBay with crazy low start price?
13. Looks like a nice little unit tried one a few years ago and liked the vibe! I think I have you ex AE212 by the way
14. Ampeg svt with 8x10 or a Mesa 400 + with an NV 412 will get the glasses rattling nicely, go big be a man!
15. A pleasure to deal with, nice one Lee Ian
16. Better late than never! Great guy to deal with, no messing about, hope to deal with you again. Ian
17. Frank just bought a cab off of me, really nice guy, great to talk to. Totally recommended!
18. Just bought an AE212 off Martin, great guy, cab as described, would be really happy to deal with him again(as long as he doesn't want the cab back) Ian
19.
Roadie ready
+1000
20. If Mesa are priced per kilo then they offer exceptional value
21.
That is odd. I've only ever heard that the AE cabs are quite tightly voiced in terms of bass.
The 10 loaded cabs are tight, the AE212 is a different beast altogether, I have one paired with a little mark 800 and the low end is huge even sat on a gramma pad, all relative though! If Molan ever wants to loose the AE210 I might even be able to find a good home for it.....
22.
The 112H cab is brand new so it'll be he latest version. I've been running the basic combo against the AE210 today and it's really interesting to compare them. The Berg definitely goes deeper and he combo sounds a little boxy. However as you start boosting the volume the AE, to my ears, starts getting a bit boomy whilst the 112 combo starts really snarling and coming to life. For the rock band I'm in it sounds great with a fairly bright and aggressive sounding Sei bass
Glad you are diggin it, am intrigued by the ae210 sounding boomy, that is not a description that I have ever heard about that cab! I guess on a wooden floor or powered by a streamliner .....
