1. If you're buying from Thomann you can return the bass for a refund if you don't like it within 30 days.
2. I've owned one of these. Obscene amount of bass for the money, I couldn't fault it.
3. Similar experience with them, excellent customer service.
4. Funny, I'd go for the Spector for the exact same reasons.
5.
Are Sadowsky "totally ripping off" Fender because they do a superior take on a Leo Fender design?
Superior to the early 60s jazz? But yeah, Sadowsky, along with a number of builders, are ripping off other people's designs.
6. He certainly did use Spectors, you can see one in the videos for Fight Like a Brave & Knock Me Down.
7. Blatant shilling, let's see what eBay do about it.
8. I bought a Spector USA Shorty this week. It is superb.
9. There a big gap between an asking price & a selling price & a lot of 'ray owners on eBay are being wildly optimistic. £700 would be my upper limit for a modern 'ray.
10. No interest so I'm putting this one back in its case.
11. Compare the price of a Super P4 with a Fender Pino or a Super J4 with the price of a Sadowsky Will Lee. For a bespoke Canadian made bass with a custom made bridge, pickups & electronics (i.e. no bulk purchasing of established parts), Dingwalls are more than reasonable.
12. Well the 3 that really intrigue me are the Dingwall Super P, the Xotic XP & the Lull. I don't see much mentioned about Mike Lull but what I do see suggests he makes a very special bass.
13. Grand Wazoo makes a great point about the evenness of sound across the strings. It's hard to explain but you don't appreciate how different the B,E & A strings sound to the D&G on a normal bass. With the Dingwall it sounds like every string is being played on the same instrument, same presence punch & sustain. What I appreciate most about this is that eq'ing the amp stops being a compromise between tight enough to make the lower register sound clean but no so tight as to make the high register sound nasal. Oh, & Sheldon Dingwall seems to be a top bloke. It would be very easy for anyone making such a great product to disappear up their own arse about it but he seems totally grounded & interested in what all his customers have to say.
14. I'm gutted to be selling mine. Amazing necks, amazing build & tone to die for, best bass guitar I've played in 30+ years.
15. Yes, no problem, I've sent you a PM with some prices.
16. OK, a last sniff folks, £1099 until Sunday night & then it's staying put.
17. A little bump, lots of interest but still available.
18. Thank you for all the positive words, I hadn't realised quite how many people were aware of how good these basses are. Still available BTW.
19. Ah right, never knew that! I thought it looked damn well made, thanks for the heads up.
