2.
Oi you, I got a chance to be the first one on the drummer / musician joke for a change and I took it
Ha! In the immortal words of our dear friend, Inti - "I don't respond to intimidation"
 3.
Just be cool and pretend he's another musician
You mean he just PRETENDS to play drums?
 4. Pushing this back up on the fact that this is my favourite album of this year, and any artist will have to work hard to top it, I think.
 5.
I suppose it's not as scary as it sounds... If it gives you a better mobility, I guess it's worth it, plus think of the stories you can then tell down at the pub! still... double ouch.
Like what? "I could open your beer with my wrist"?
 6.
Sod lorries, I've seen cars that have gone into tractors... now that is messy
Especially when it's the slurry tank on the back that they hit
 7.
I'm glad to hear you're recovering. Can you explain why you never wore seatbelts before? I never understood it personally...
I think a lot of gents of a certain age (from before seatbelts were compulsory) just continue with what they know, although, I doubt Harleyheath is one of those people, because he'd have to be in his 60's now to remember those days... Maybe he is? Some other people, like people from small rural communities, are just used to jumping in the car to go around the corner, and probably a bit of monkey see monkey do goes on and they carry on like their parents did and don't wear seatbelts. Those are my personal observations at least. But There's not much sense in it when you consider that you could still get hit by a lorry, even if you are only nipping around the corner at 20mph. People and their habits, eh?
 8.
Thanks for your well wishes! Yh lessen very well learnt! Loss of cash is a pain but I can recover, but yh the potential loss of limbs or life is a different matter ay! Funny coz I always put a seatbelt over my basses while in the front of a car! Lol
How would you live if they came to any harm though?
 9.
Quick update- looks like my arm has reached as much movement as it will at about 50%! The solution, and this is not a joke, is to have my arm shortened Only by a few mm but cutting your arm in half is cutting you arm in half regardless of how much they remove isnt it? Dont know for sure yet and will probably be a few months away so I am going to try and get on with things for now.
Ok, so how much do they want to shorten it by? 5mm? 10mm? TBH, It's probably worth it in the long run. One arm will be slightly shorter, but surely it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, does it? If it was me, and shortening it a bit was going to double the mobility of it, I would go for it, and who knows, you could be back playing those lovely Ray's in no time
 10. You got off lightly. Now you know there's no point in taking the risk when it comes to safety features of a car, or insurance. Most people at some point of their life will have an accident, and you'll be glad of either. Hope you're back on your feet soon, and the accident hasn't taken too much of your confidence!
 11. I'm not very well up on these things, but as soon as i saw it, i kind of felt like it had fake written all over it. It certainly doesn't match the quality of any status I have ever seen (talking in terms or materials used). Just my thoughts.
 12.
if it's our music (which it is)...
Lies. I've heard that album, and it's all old Chic covers
 13.
he did already, but it wouldn't stay on his trowel long enough.
Ha!
 14.
S'alright. You're safe. It's Chinese...
Thank god! I can sleep tonight
 15.
It's an MM3. Don't know what country it was made in. Unfortunately, its new owner is coming to collect it on Saturday. Done on EBay. No-one on here ever seems to want what I'm selling. Except today, it seems..
BAH! It says the country on the back of the headstock. I would only be interested if it was Korean anyway.
 16.
I'm gently downsizing. Selling off cheaper instruments like an Ibanez, Ovation electro-acoustic, OLP and potentially Hohner B2A, whilst keeping more useful/ better instruments. Figure I'll keep the VMJ, MIA jazz, Vigier, Yamaha and two of the Warwicks. The fate of the Streamline and Infinity are undecided. In place of the 4 or 5 that go, I'll likely invest in an EUB. Has to be a fiver, though!
Tell me about this OLP! What country was it made in?
 17.
I'm plastered already, and it's only 8 o'clock.
Hey Gav! CHILI'S! Awesome. Some tricky lines, but it will only make you better. Try porcelain, it's nice and slow, just a nice little song. Nothing tricky about it
 18.
Hello everyone, My name is Alexis (you can say Alex). I come from Paris, France, I'm 29. I play bass for 15 years now, and was in a "heavy music" band wich I toured with for 1 year and a half all over europe and I recently moved to the UK for a new job. I just wanted to say hi, I don't know anybody here in the UK so I thought it would be a good idea to "talk" to some english bass colleagues and share some ideas. I'm using Sandberg basses (was an endorsee for them), 4 strings mainly but I do own a 5 strings bass, Aguilar Amps (AG500 and DB212) and Ernie Ball strings. I hope my english is good enough and i look forward to talk to you guys on the forum. Cheers Alex
Hello Frenchy In the UK, it's polite to greet police officers by lunging at them, shouting a word that begins with C and sounds a bit like funt. Baptism of fire If you still want to hang out with us, that's cool See you around
 19.
His mum says no...
"Nah son, I never got them, best send another one, and we'll see if that reaches me. "
 20.
Many years ago I sent my Mum a box of chocolates in the post. The postie actually folded it in half to get it through her letterbox! And even then it must have needed a crow-bar to get it in. I get paranoid about any package I send that's over letterbox size entirely because of that.
HAHA! Silly postie Our regular postman is pretty decent.
 21.
I'm afraid this is true - anything with 'fragile' stickers on gets singled out for 'special treatment'.
"Hey, Fred, what does far-gee-ly mean?"
 22.
Forklifts. Stable, robust, powerful devices for a tough job. When clumsily (or mis-) used, the damage potential is simply enormous.
Yes, i've worked in a warehouse before. Don't know how you can ram it through a pallet and then try and deliver it anyway. That's just stupid.
 23.
Alex has confirmed the damage was done by a forklift tine. He's wrangling with the courier re insurance. I may have a replacement as early as next week. Alex is a real trooper and trying very hard to get me a Super 15 ASAP. Many thanks, Alex!
Wow! serious f*** up in the warehouse, eh?
 24.
Well, after waiting with great anticipation for my Barefaced Super 15, it arrived this morning. With a hole in it. Right through multiple packaging layers and almost right through the ply. Quite how the couriers had managed to mistreat a well-packed item that badly,is, frankly, beyond me. Alex at Barefaced was audibly shocked when i told him, both because he's gone to a great deal of trouble to try and make sure this sort of problem doesn't happen, and because he now has to effectively start from scratch on a new cab for me, which will screw up his production. Hopefully, he can recover some parts from the damaged cab, but if it's been beaten around to that extent (there were in fact several holes in and through the packaging), I would be surprised if it wasn't a total loss. To say I'm gutted is to indulge in the greatest of understatements...
What i can't understand is how a courier puts a hole through several layers of packing AND plywood. Was it a drill hole?
