That Shaftesbury that sold last week's back already: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=140225768621 Same as that Yamaha in the Pete,Young's post - at least if I buy something cheap off Ebay I have the decency to wait until the old listing's expired before punting it back! No bloody manners!! J.
It's a different one isn't it? Tort plate, three knobs? Previous was black with two unless I skipped a post?
 2.
I quite like it too- just one thing- where are the strap buttons? might be a bit tricky fitting a button to that top horn.
There's plenty of places to tie the string
 3. I kinda like it..... But seriously, isn't there a manufacturer that did this, and they're all really collectible now?
 4.
Hehe. He's advertising his as an "Excellent bass" while mine's got chapter and verse about why they're rubbish.
yeah but yours is going for £30...
 5. Someone else doesn't like theirs: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-H-S-Sequoia-six-...1QQcmdZViewItem
 6.
OK - if nobody else will , I'll ask the the question. So what's ...etc etc ??
1. Ricky 4001/4003 3. Jazz bass. Sunburst with torty scratch, block inlays 4. Roland bass synth 2 i have, 1 is in progress. 4 is a dream.
 7.
This one? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rickenbacker-4003-Bl...emZ320241452898 I think that's lovely - the BB isn't my favourite colour but it works really well with the pearl plate & surround. Fairly silly price for a ltd. ed. colour, too. That's about 3 miles down the road from me. J.
That's the one. There was one in Milton Keynes Sound Control up until recently. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I dont. The one I really want is Montezuma brown, but the one on ebay at the mo' is taking the p*ss. We shall see. But I've made my mind up. I've waited 15 years, no more. I will have one in my hands or on order by the end of the year...... (or a copy )
 8.
I take it we're talking real Ricks here - if so, that's a great price, however long it takes.
Yeah, that's a real one. PMT offered to match it as well. My worry is I will finally get it and I'll be disappointed, which is why I'm looking for a cheaper copy. TBH, if I miss out on this one, I'll probably order a real one, or see if my stuff sells and I'll buy a 2nd hander. There's a nice blue boy on ebay at the moment with a toaster and pearly plate added for a similar price. Undecided about the colour though.
 9. From CH Guitar parts? I've been nosing at that for a long time. I think the previous sale got pulled didn't it?
 10.
http://www.tiptop.se/cgi-bin/multipage.cgi?id=2523
That's the one..... £502 according to the currency calculator Fingers crossed with the Hondo, hopefully it won't go too high. Another will show up, I've waited 15 years to decide to finally get round to buying something...... Although, I'm strongly considering ordering one, and paying for it in installments. Reidy's are doing them for £999. It'll be paid for by the time it arrives...
 11.
Do my eyes deceive me or is the Ibanez a 7 string?
Yep. Can't play it No problems with 5,6,7 string basses, but I just didn't get on with the guitar. I can't make my hands move in small increments, if you get what i mean. it's like trying to play a ukelele to me......
 12.
Whereabouts are you? I have a friend who is looking to buy an UV.
I'm near Buckingham, MK18 if you're after collection. Willing to travel reasonable distances depending on the offer Happy to courier though.
 13.
Well I ordered a Pick up and bridge cover from some site in spain, it turns out they didn't have the bridge cover so they offered to cancel the order but I went ahead and bought the pickup cover on it's own, so I just went on ebay and found the complete set so I got that. Now I need to sell one of the pickup covers I believe it's a genuine Fender part aswell. Looking for £10 shipped.
The square precision one, or the curved jazz one?
 14.
Considering the current buoyancy of the Rickenfaker market, sub - £200 would be OK for this. The Hondo looks very tidy, (considering), I think Nick's talking about the catalogue classic held together with sticky tape! J.
yeah, i saw that one The hondo would be perfect for me. I can't *really* justify the expense of a real one, and this looks exactly right, which lets face it is part of the appeal. The Tokai that's on ebay at the mo has the wrong sort of cover on the bridge pup, which put me off.
 15. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Billy-Sheehan-Attitu...1QQcmdZViewItem Number 2 on my list of always wanted....
 16. Indie IJR765 "Dragon". One of 150 or 75 depending on who you ask. Open to offers.
 17. Are we discussing the same bass? It's £77, not £499. And for those of us that are watching it intently because we're too tight for a real one and this one is shiny, what's wrong with it??
 18. This one sprang to mind: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Epiphone-Thunderbird...1QQcmdZViewItem
 19. lol, there have been one or two cheap ones recently. they're good basses, just be prepared for neck droop and having to compensate. takes a bit of getting used to and is one reason why my doesn't get as much play as it should because it makes my fretting hand wrist hurt.
 20.
... that may be true, assuming that they know the value of what they have. To be honest, I can't imagine them putting that much effort or thought into it given the masses of stuff that must pass through their hands. So long as they make a good mark up I would be surprised if they could care very much. One of my pals has had at least half a dozen very good deals out of CC, but then he does check it with alarming regularity. I guess that is the key, plus a little luck!
They check. Or they did when I was there. I had an old Teisco tulip g****r that they went to great lengths to value before offering me any money.
 21.
The dot markers are gobsmackingly stupid
My old Yamaha BB was the same but that was lined, and my Columbus jazz is the same. it confuses me sometimes, i guess it depends what you're used to and what you use as a guide. Didn't know stingrays were different. I forgot to mention the rosewood nuts! I've got one on a Columbus EB-3 copy and it's lasted 30 odd years but they do look a bit fragile.... Certainly an honest listing. I've had a punt as promised and will keep an eye. Hope you get what you want.
 22.
OK well I've had time to calm down, think I'm going to be a bit more rational about the eBay listing. It's currently 7 hefty paragraphs of pretty nasty language but I think I've got it out of my system now! I think 5 months of fury at these bastards has got the better of me.
Lol. It's a shame, really. I know they were just rebranding chinese stuff but I really do love mine and I know there are other happy customers. They could have had a good thing going.
 23.
would you do the amp for 30 quid?
which is what i got for the one i just sold....
 24.
The saddles are quite cool and the tuners look like the ones on my old Godin, so maybe someone will want them.
My one "regret" with the 7 string is that is has an all in one rosewood bridge, rather than 7 individual saddles like that one. But I don't think i've intonated a bass in my life.... Well let us know when it's up. I'm really not a fretless player, but I will definently have a punt. I only have two 4 string fretless basses, I might need the extra strings or something....
 25. Wow, I had a park as my first bass amp in the 90's. didn't know they were that old....
