  2. Or swap for my hand-delivered octave divider!
  3. I heard that Stevie Wonder got given a cheese grater for his birthday ...he said it was the most violent book he has ever read. (gets my non PC fur coat)
  4. They should give away a free calendar with every sale
  5. [quote name='fumps' post='282446' date='Sep 12 2008, 10:51 AM']When do you need to know by?[/quote] Somewhere between 9 seconds and 9 days, when the auction ends! I'd prefer to pull an auction when there are no bidders, as no one gets upset. As I write, there are no bids, but that can change at any moment. Where abouts are you? PM me if you want to correspond in private.
  6. [quote name='fumps' post='282322' date='Sep 12 2008, 08:21 AM']Cool i'm very interested in giving this a good home. I've just bought a house so a little strapped so let me talk to my better half & do some sums. It would be lovingly looked after with me i can assure you. And yes i would consider selling you it back when your richer lol[/quote] It is on eBay now, but no bids yet, so I can remove it if you decide to go for it sooooon!
  7. [quote name='fumps' post='281931' date='Sep 11 2008, 03:49 PM']Just out of intrest, do you still have this?[/quote] I dowahdiddydiddydumdiddy DO!
  8. IMHO, there ought to be a Bass Chat desk, manned by volunteers, to gain new members and for existing members to meet up. I'm sure a contra-deal on advertising will mean no money changing hands.
  9. If Carlsberg made bass guitars, this would be its flagship model.
  10. An excellent bunch of confessions, so far. I'm sure there's more to come that would make Ozzy look more like Michael Parkinson. I'm trundling down to Duxford for the weekend's air display soon (monsoon permitting), but come Sunday night, I hope to come back to 'riches of embarrassments' on this thread.

I bet that sounds awesome! Good luck with getting your desired sale value.
  12. [quote name='cetera' post='277687' date='Sep 5 2008, 11:14 AM']In my KISS tribute.... lycra, make-up, studded codpiece, batwings, a long wiggly tongue (of my own), firebreathing, blood spitting, crotch-thrusting, an 'Axe' bass and seven inch monster-headed stack heels!! lol! [/quote] Careful now. You'll have Mrs Tinman coming over all unnecessary!
  13. Have you ever used an idiosyncrasy on stage, whether it be clothing or prop or otherwise? Phil Lynott had his mirrored scratchplate, The Ox invariably had something around his neck, Bootsy has his extreme shades and hats. Back in the 70s, as a yoof, I took to regularly having a large can of imported Fosters Lager on the top of my stack at gigs (yeah, I know [i]now [/i]not to put drinks there). At that time, Fosters was not brewed in the UK and the amber nectar was pretty rare (and hence 'cool'). Any BC'ers done any less tame things?
  14. [quote name='walbassist' post='275757' date='Sep 2 2008, 08:36 PM']I'm very interested in this and would appreciate some pics as and when.[/quote] [url="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200251223386&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=010"]Pics galore on dear old Auntie E[/url]
  15. [quote name='bass_ferret' post='274453' date='Sep 1 2008, 01:11 PM']Dont know what picassa is but assuming its an image hosting site then you need to wrap the url for the images with IMG tags[/quote] Picassa is google's web albums service. It gives you the option of giving you the HTML code for embedding. So I clicked on basschat's "Insert Image" button and pasted the code. then posted and got "Sorry, dynamic pages in the [IMG] tags are not allowed"
  16. So how's it done then? I'd like to add decent size images to posts without folk having to click on them to view. I do have a picassa account, if that helps.
  17. [quote name='Paul Cooke' post='274430' date='Sep 1 2008, 12:55 PM']pm'd I has a harem to hang up... [/quote] You got there first, so I'll consider them sold. Ta.
  18. One of the last gigs with my FNA Jazzman, in 2006.
  19. Great thread. So completely readable and yet so completely pointless. Luv it! I thought I'd read it all and it would remind me of my pet hates, so I could second them. Amazingly, I found nothing. I don't have any! I have several consternations though. Like why have distortion pedals for bass? If I want filth, I overdrive my amp's pre-gain.
  20. I've got three "String Swing" wall hangers spare. They served me well, until the room got redecorated and my harem got put on to floor racks. They are almost certainly this product [url="https://www.stringswing.com/products/produc...ref_category=23"]https://www.stringswing.com/products/produc...ref_category=23[/url] You'll need new screws (two each). I'll bung 'em in a jiffy bag and post as cheaply as Royal Mail will allow. Paypal will do nicely.
  21. A recent GAS attack, and a change of band, is causing me to rationalise my harem. On offer for £200 is a Washburn Electro-acoustic AB10 which was originally expertly defretted and sold to me by our very own Bass Chatter & luther, Paul_C. Pics to follow very shortly. Fab condition, complete with Thomastik strings ...great for sounding like a double bass when you want it to.
  22. [quote name='Fraktal' post='271082' date='Aug 27 2008, 03:25 PM']Can you completely remove the attack from the audio signal with no unwanted strange artifacts or noises? So to speak, can you make it work as a brickwall limiter?[/quote] The short answer is yes, that appears to be the case. Interestingly (and don't forget I'm a newbie when it comes to compressors) the control that makes the most difference is the Sustain one. When that's off, it takes on more of a Limiter role.
  23. [quote name='MuseMatt' post='273519' date='Aug 31 2008, 09:20 AM']Darn... that thing is lovely, I'd like to see a pic with the LEDS on You sure about UK posting only?[/quote] I said UK only on eBay, but I'd make an exception for Basschat folk!
  24. Now posted on [url="http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=200250653843&ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT&ih=010"]Flea Bay[/url]
