It's a guitar amp! It's a bass amp! It's a Bluetooth speaker! It's a recording interface! It's a multi effect platform and amp simulator. Absolute class piece of kit for someone who wants a small form factor, multi instrument, practice amp. I dabble in a bit of electric guitar too so this is a great little bit of kit. You can edit the effects and amp Sims from your phone, download other people's patches... It's fantastic. Reason for sale: I've got a Headrush pedal incoming and I now use my Fender Bassman as a guitar amp as well as bass amp so the Positive Grid is getting less use these days. All in very good condition, one small scuff on the corner of the amp Rolex which I've covered with gorilla tape. Other than that it's excellent. I also have the carry bag which are about £40 new. Grab the lot for £100 (amp, PSU, bag). Photos to follow... Collection preferred. Will post via Parcel Force at cost (estimate £12.50ish)

If you can get this repaired at a good price, or do it yourself, this looks like a bargain. https://ebay.us/m/wCGWEL

Suppose it depends how you cook them

Sadly I couldn't justify keeping these so both are now gone. Quality guitars and great value for money.

I have no experiences of Moon basses unfortunately. I am on my second MIJ 75 reissue though. I stupidly moved on the first one rather than persisting, it was the best looking bass I've ever owned and it sounded very good, it was a maple board, butterscotch, gorgeous thing. I've now got a vintage white, rosewood board one and I've put LaBella flats on it. It's absolutely glorious through a valve front end amp. The neck profile feels pretty typical of a jazz bass to me. I can't say I've noticed anything different with it, it's not the slimmest I've ever used (Sandberg) or what I would call a baseball bat meaning a bit thick massive thing, the worst offender being a Warwick $$ and a comfortable but massive neck being an MIJ PB70. I also have a newish US Jazz bass and the neck profile feels similar, the finish is just different.

Thoughts on one-off bass masterclass sessions?

I went to a Marcus Miller one a few years back. Incredible experience! My advice would be go, listen, learn, and if you have a question ask it. I wouldn't say I learned anything in particular but I came away incredibly inspired. -
I'd give a b0llock for that. They declined and asked for money instead. I can't do that right now. Damn. That's a lovely bass.

**I think I have mis-priced this as there's some available on auction sites at £80ish. I will sell here for £80 plus postage** Had this for probably just over a year. I got it as a more compact version of the WL-50 because I was moving away from a pedalboard to a single multi fx unit. Absolutely great wireless system that has never let me down, I just realised that I can manage with a cable to be honest and I need to raise a bit of cash. Happy to post in the UK for a fiver, recorded delivery.

Not bass but something different... I used to play field hockey to a decent standard as a goalie. "Retired" aged 29 to play at a lower standard, just for fun, no more goalie work. Gave that up for a few years when it wasn't fun anymore. After four or five years out I got the itch, and after a season and a half back in I got persuaded to play in goal... "This could be a complete disaster" I warned. Turned out I absolutely loved it and am throwing myself back in. A rest can help you appreciate what it was, and opportunities can arise tomorrow or twelve years later. If you loved it at one point you can love it again, you just need the right circumstances to relight the fire.

And sadly I can't find the original but here's a portrait of my miniature schnauzer. They're unique dogs with such distinctive features, the long beard, bushy eyebrows and expressive eyes. I think I captured him very well here.

So, last year the guitarist and singer were having a back and forth with various technical sketches to work out how to incorporate wireless IEMs for the singer.... And I drew this.

Something about this design just makes me think it would be great as a fretless. I have no idea why, having never played one. I've only heard good things about them, and with a fancy preamp I'm sure this is quite the versatile, playable bass

Love the colour on that Dark Knight!! I know Fender call it Dark Night but if Batman played bass that is what he would play.

Damn. I do not want to be following Cliff in any way whatsoever

I want to get ahead of the next AI trend... It was action figures, then Muppets... Surely it has to be Thunderbirds next?

Behringer did or still do one that fits the bill. We had it in the band to save floor and car space from big monitors and it helped get vocals in tune. I wouldn't pump bass through it though. Anyway, fifteens... I hear all the arguments on speaker size but to me something just sounds deeper and more rich in my fifteens than it does with smaller speakers. It's rare for me to play without PA support so I want the sound I like from my kit. Lightweight and compact cabs mean it's not as impractical as it used to be.

We do option 2, but we do it by playing a song that's not on the set list for the night. Me and the two guitars are wireless so we will wonder about to get a feeling for the sound. The singer tells everyone it's a soundcheck so if we stop abruptly to adjust something or start over again it's generally accepted.

I use 2x Ashdown Pro Neo 15s with an ABM 600 head. Sometimes I only take a single cab. I used to use the Ashdown Rootmaster lightweight cabs too, both the fifteen and 2x10 versions, they're also good and very cheap second hand.

Our drummer has an LCD monitor in his kick drum. It can play a series of different still images and video clips that are stored on USB drives. It doesn't sync with the music. It gets lots of comments. I was looking for a photo of it but that kind of defeats the point to demonstrate it's a video screen!

I don't think anyone is getting ripped off here. Unless there's a BC kids TV show starting featuring all of these puppets...

And here it is... Original and Not-a-Muppet-but-something-similar Interesting how it's changed my jazz to a precision. It's repaired my jeans, and made my stubbly facial hair almost beard into the lush kind of beard I can only wish for.

The band I am in is called the Desert Penguins. So here's one I prepared earlier while I wait for Chat GPT to recreate me as a puppet "inspired by the Muppets"

Struggling with sound engineering guitarist
uk_lefty replied to mrtcat's topic in General Discussion
Agree with Beedster. The thing is if he wants to do a huge guitar w@nkathon he can do it at home and stick it on YouTube. That is not what you are paid to be performing at Weddings and the like for. We all have to compromise on our ideal to get paying gigs, so the sound should be balanced and clean so that it's enjoyable for the audience who have booked and paid for a function band. As others have said, I have no idea why a lot of bands can't have this grown up conversation. -
I have a positive grid spark also. Its really good for my incredibly limited guitar ability, not so good for bass. I also have a Fender bassman TV 12 reissue which is very good for guitar (in my opinion, I'm no guitarist) as well as bass. There's the Peavey Vypyr modelling amp that claims to cover both guitar and bass, I have no experience of it though.
