1. Worth a shot. Looks a bit like the Blueburst G&L I sold recently...
2. Never mind! I've been lucky enough to discover that the 24th fret was loose and coming away from the body enough for my fingernail to get stuck when attempting to pry it from the bottom edge of the neck. A quick smack with the edge of something blunt but hard (a piece of wood!) knocked it back into place and my world has now stopped coming crashing down.
3. Hi everyone. So I've recently noticed that playing the 23rd fret on my 5 string Ibanez Prestige causes massive amounts of buzzing, almost like rattling. The strings are at a standard height from the fretboard and the only thing I've seen that's had any effect on it is setting the string height stupidly high. I was wondering if it could be a possible problem with the fret itself? Any help is much appreciated.
4. Stick to it. Market has been, and still is, a bit 'dryer' than it used to be.
5. I only own a Korean-made Spector, but it was a purchase that was decided as soon as I picked up the bass. I love the neck on it, it's really slim and I found it really easy to play. Plus, for a passive bass, it had a great sound and had a strong output. A European or American made one is definitely on my list of dream basses.
6. Sandberg are one of those companies that you never ever really here anything bad about, but are never really a popular or 'in fashion'. But if I was allowed the money for a custom build, it'd be a Sandberg for sure.
7.
probably mice at the warehouse...
Metal-munching ones? Now that sounds rather scary...
8. Silly price. Good luck with the sale (although you shouldn't need it!)
9. Just posted this on Facebook. Good luck with getting it back, it would be a shame to lose something so unique.
10. Thanks to Silvia for starting this topic. I'm the other half of the team, and will be mainly responsible for Basschat on Facebook. For those of you wondering, nothing much is going to change. For those who currently follow or 'like' Basschat on Facebook, you'll probably notice an increase in posts overall, but nothing that would be considered spam. Mainly interesting and funny things as well as links to competitions for free stuff from other companies (in the past few hours I've posted one from Warwick who are giving away an amp and one from EMG who are giving away a Spector and and an Ampeg amp +cab). For those of you who are at least a bit curious and are on the fence about whether Facebook is a good thing, I'd definitely urge you to sign up and give the Basschat page a 'like'! As well as links to other companies promotions, we've certainly got plans to do our own giveaways/competitions so if you don't want to miss out on free stuff, get yourselves on there!
11.
Stopped smoking ganga recently?
Or on the other hand, a heavy day of painting?
12. Can't say much for Stingray's (and I wouldn't dare, there are plenty of people to offer their experiences with them!) but I'm a huge fan of the Bongos. I think they look great and sound amazing and are among a couple of the basses that are on my wishlist.
13. Massive fan of LTE, and on that final run, doesn't he copy Petrucci? In which case, would it be at all possible to just transcribe the part from guitar tab if available? Just an idea.
14.
Hey Chris, Thanks for a great read. Belated welcomes then! I envy that you live so close to Leamington - where the toy shop is. As to late blooming, I can relate. Was almost 24 when I started at music college, and happily really got to experience what some extra maturity (personalitywise and musicwise) can give you for free where others will strive. Go for it and good luck on the way! best, bert
That means an awful lot, thank you, Bert. And thank you Chris.
15. Hello! I've been a member on Basschat for a while, and haven't actually introduced myself properly, so here it goes. My names Chris, I'm 22 years old and from Birmingham. I've was lucky enough to be naturally gifted at music and learning theory and other instruments, but it wasn't until I found the bass guitar about two years ago that I found the dedication to stick at it. My first bass was a Yamaha RBX 170 and it was great fun for me, but I soon had my sights set on other things. I'm a big fan of power and prog' metal and was quickly yearning for a 5 string. Unfortunately, there were problems following my first purchase of an Ibanez BTB 575 (and man, I did love that bass) so roll on to about a month ago and I'm now the chuffed owner of an Ibanez Prestige 4005e. All the money I paid for it was earnt by myself, slowly, over the period of a few months (which makes it all the more special for me!) and I purchased the bass from a fellow BC'er. It's the only bass I've ever played that felt comfortable to me straight away, but the Ibanez Soundgear's really are lovely instruments and you can't get better than a Prestige! I currently work part-time at my local newsagents but soon hope to attend college to study Music further (I'm what my mum calls a 'late bloomer'...) and take it to another level. See you around!
16. Great tidy little interfaces are these. Have one myself and haven't had any troubles with it as a fellow Windows 7 user, so don't let that put you off if you're thinking of buying it!
17. Found this recently, maybe it'll be of use to you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_pJT1Ah8CM&list=UU0jC0_-39GTyFSMpsg1IC1Q&index=9&feature=plcp
18. Pictured below is my Snowball USB Mic that's for sale. Blue are a reputable company that make great USB mics and are extremely popular amongst the vlogging YouTube community, but its musical applications (especially vocals) are great as well. See YouTube for demos. The mic is brushed aluminium and is in virtually new condition, hence the price. The RRP on these is just under £90 and the shock mount's RRP is just under £45. I purchased this new with the intention to use it, but with a fairly good headset and accessible XLR inputs on my interface, this isn't getting used at all. Price is £75 delivered anywhere in the UK. Payment via PayPal is preferred. Only things i'm interested in from trades are TC Electronic Pedals, especially a Polytune or other vocal microphone or mic gear, but if you're tempted by this then feel free to drop me a PM with other trade offers anyway as I might not want something until I see it! Three Different Recording Pattern Modes for Versatile Recording Using Blue Microphone's proprietary dual-capsule technology, the Snowball can record a wide range of situations. Its multiple pattern capability makes it an ideal choice for recording music, podcasts, Skype conversations, and live chat. Depending on what kind of sound you are recording, you can choose from three distinct pattern modes:

Cardioid mode: Well-suited to podcasts, sung vocals, and other voice work, cardioid mode records sound sources that are directly in front of the microphone. It delivers a rich, full-bodied sound.
Cardioid mode with -10 dB PAD: The same as cardioid mode, except with a -10 dB attenuation that helps you capture louder sounds with higher fidelity.
Omnidirectional mode: Omnidirectional mode picks up sound equally from all directions. It is best used in situations when you want to capture the ambience of "being there"--like a live recording of a band's performance.

Innovative Design Makes Recording Easy With a visual design inspired by classic recording equipment, the Snowball's stylish, retro aesthetic will complement any computer system. Its metal grille and frame recall the look of old-timey microphones. The Snowball comes with an adjustable tripod that lets you position the microphone in relation to the sound source, improving sound quality. It also features an LED indicator, which glows red when the microphone is powered. Hassle-Free Setup The Snowball requires no complicated drivers to operate; simply plug it into your computer's USB port with the included USB cable, calibrate the microphone with your operating system, and you're ready to record. The microphone is compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP (Home and Professional), and Mac OS X (10.4.11 or higher), and requires a minimum of 64 MB of RAM.
19. By the time I can afford a Bongo, they will have gone up in price. And then by the time I can afford a Bongo again...
20. Always been a favourite of my parents, but never been much of a fan. Giving it another listen doesn't change much, but picking out the bass makes it bearable.
21. Massive fan of the Soundgear range so I can't recommend this enough. To anyone who's thinking about it, get it! Mint condition SR500's will never ever be this cheap. Good luck with the sale!
22. I own the Prestige 4005E and just wanted to say that Ibanez's high end basses are just amazing. I've always been a fan of them and after finding myself being able to afford one, waited and waited for the right one to come along and it was well worth it. £700 is an absolute steal for such a beautiful and well made bass.
