Well this will sound a little repetitive but mark is a sound guy. I bought a big John power supply off him, it was here the next day. Excellent condition and excellent packaging. Cheers mate!
2. Mate I had to buy one! Where were you two weeks ago? I really need to just move this one on sorry
3. These are awesome basses for the money, I tried to sell mine now I'm glad I didn't! Good luck with the sale have a bump!
4. Yeah that's a fair call mate. We are currently auditioning singers at the moment, I think it's Definately a two way street. Part of being a good auditionee is knowing your limits and not over commiting yourself to learning too much new material. Learn few well rather than lots poorly has always been my philosophy. The flip side is that as the auditioner you want the person to feel like they have a chance of doing well, rather than learn all 25 he should have said "here is our set list, learn 4 or 5 and we will go from there". As someone else has pointed out though I think there may have been a more sinister plot at work here to get someone to fill in for a gig and possibly axe the encumbant. Sounds like you dodged a bullet my friend!
5. I think I may have found the problem, I noticed there is a blue wire with a ring lug on it floating about inside the casing. I think that it should be grounded to the chassis???
6.
No you're not being too picky. However OTO wimping out of an audition with less than 24 hours to go is very bad form. If you were booked into a rehearsal room and the terms are anything like they are here in Nottingham then the band you should have been auditioning for will have just lost at least 50% of the room rental. If that happened to me I'd not be a happy chap either.
+1 you have every right to be picky, in fact on one level you are doing them a favour by not auditioning if you are not into it. Nothing worse than spending a few weeks with someone and then have them pull out because its not really their thing. On the other hand, they wanted you to learn 25 songs, which is ridiculous if you ask me, but it does suggest that you were the ONLY person they were auditioning that night so they probably had to fork out hard earned off the back of you backing out at the last minute. Maybe try learning the songs before the day of the audition next time so you don't find yourself in the same boat 😜
7. Hey hey, are you a 'tallica fan or Is it a clever name? Where are you located?
8. Hey mate, would you consider a custom shop vintage p bass pickup trade for your 105q?
9. I'm running a matamp 610 with a terror bass 1000, and quite happy tbh. Always wanted a full ampeg rig, but maybe ill have to wait!
10. Thanks alx, but no sorry. Not big into multi's and besides I just bought a pedal board for my other effects!
11. Ill throw into the mix that I already have a 610 😈 so trading down at this point seems unlikely. As stupid as it sounds I think the 810 would be easier to manoeuvre with the built in handle and wheels!
12. Hey guys, I'm new to doing pub gigs and I'm hoping my band will be up and running soon so have a question, is an 810 cab to big for pub gig?? I'm looking to trade up to an all ampeg setup but wondering if it will be overkill. At the end of the day it has te same footprint as a 410....
13. Now you really are hurting me! I Have a tb1000....
14. What connectors are on the output? Are they a standard dc plug? They look like an RCA connector?
15.
Well there's something in that. Since I played an SVT and 8X10 back in the day I've been trying to achieve that sound again on a budget - you can get fairly close... but I just know that if I had another classic Ampeg rig I'd be right there on it with the sound I want. The transport situation being another issue, of course...
It's like you are reading my mind! That rig would cure my search for "tone", but like you say, it's not the most portable of rigs 😜
16. Hi guys up for grabs here is the p bass pickup from my mike dirnt signature bass. The are the custom shop vintage one and they sound great. It has a really warm mellow sound, only selling as I want a slightly hotter more aggressive sound so I'm installing quarter pounders. Let me know!
17. Bump again! Have added some more trade bait if anyone is interested?
18. If I am honest, and I don't know if this applies to everyone but if money was no object I think I could have got my dream tone straight away! The trouble is most of us have to compromise for one reason or another, and then try and tweak as circumstances allow. I know exactly how you feel, I am "happy" with my tone right now but am trying to "tweak" it 😈
19. I do like my tb1000, I can't fault it's performance. For me it has not had quite the right tone, but having said that, it's my first REAL amp. Lookimg to trade for an all ampeg rig, Iay regret it but that is the dream rig so have to walk the path.
