4.
It's all in your imagination, everyone knows a bass doesnt have fifteen frets.
My bad... I'll keep taking the pills
 5.
Nuff Said
Love the trousers
 6.
I can't believe I'm reading this torrid nonsense ! Look away from the glitzy lure of the vile octave and repeat after me ' root - five - root - five -root - five -root - five -root - five -root - five -root - five -' . It has been good enough generations of players and it's good enough for you lot ! Next thing you know there will be talk of playing beyond the fifth fret.....
You mean the piece I am currently working on that starts on the 15th fret is a bad thing.
 7.
We are but days away from a moan about guitarists and volume
My gigs are for the cats and chickens, but I am already having volume wars with OH who is on lead guitar! LOL! Then there is the timing I am the rhythm section, I keep time (well) he needs to stick with me, not expect me to bend to his vague time signature that bears a passing resemblance to 4/4
 8.
I think I may have to resort to this actually. At least initially. Interesting to know I wouldnt be the only who dies this little cheat. That makes me feel a bit less stressed about it, ta.
It's not a cheat it's a technique
 9.
... Hmmm... Well, it was a full 'Star Trek' band called 'the Crew' ..We did funky/jazzy versions of all the Trek themes plus many Sci-Fi TV & film tunes... Played a bunch of conventions (...some of the weirdest gigs I've ever done!) ... Did several TV appearances, including the Big Breakfast & MTV's Hanging Out... & it was a great gig in some ways.... but not what I was really wanting to do at the time!...
OMG!!!! I think that sounds AWESOME Shame about Paramount being arses :-(
 10.
+8.
I like what you did there
 11. Hands up as I'm another fan..... Lets face it Pink Floyd used it on Breathe.... They can't be wrong
 12.
Am I sad by being more bothered that the advert states: "The managers are aware that it is quite difficult to find female musicians who the bass." Basschatters are aware it is quite difficult to find managers who can the advert.....
I thought the same! I reckon it's been written by a spotty teenage boy in his bedroom who is trying to live out a fantasy of having all these women perform for him in his band.... Think Charlie wanting his angels.
 13.
Nice one! I shall rush out to buy a bottle of Advocaat and a box of Ritz crackers for this special event!
PMSL, the imagery!!!
 14.
This has sent me into a complete feminist frenzy, and I'm having to breathe into a paper bag right now!! Have we achieved nothing, sisters??
I suspect that it wasn't a woman that crafted that ad somehow seashell. Let's face it though, having chosen the bass as an instrument I doubt us females on here are girly girls
 15.
I'm assuming we'll all be responding to the ad with that Youtube clip, then? I'm all for giving people another chance. Large-breasted Basschat'ers, who may feel agrieved at missing out on this opportunity, are welcome to join my band. All of you.
Woo Hoo I may have a gig then... Although should also add that I have a large arse and large gut which accompany my boobs
 16. When and where is this quiz? I think I may win if I come along
 17.
Have you given the heads up to our arrival yet? They might want to provide us with a buffet or similar?
Says the girl who barely eats
 18.
Cheers Debs -if I did go ahead it would give us something extra to talk about on our next Thelma and Louise adventure (or maybe we could call ourselves Jazz and Precision .... go on, you choose)
Seen as our next Thelma and Louise adventure is this Saturday, you'd better be as quick and as impulsive as I was with my Ibanez purchase
 19. I have read every word and found it heartfelt and insightful. I wish you luck as you continue on your journey. I am at the start of my bass playing life, and am desperate to play in a band. Hope you can find the direction you need to move forward in a way that is right for you.
 20. Fabulous news Really chuffed for you
 21. Thanks guys, all really useful comment there. Personally I love the sound My teacher, who is awesome, has me taking it REALLY slowly and has emphasised the importance of keeping time. So i shall use a metronome I think. Watch this space and thanks for the encouragement
 22. Gelfin - Sat pm into the evening sounds perfect LC - keep me posted on gigs, I'll defo come to one
 23.
By the way...we have our first gig this coming Saturday 7 July at the Green Rooms in Treforest. We'll be on at about 8.30 ish I expect and you'd be more than welcome. The Green Rooms is a rehearsal venue but it has a big room with a main stage, lighting rig and sound engineer so we are looking forward to it. Our set includes: Nirvana, Cream, REM, JET, Oasis, Stereophonics, Black Crowes, Black Sabbath, Free, Kings of Leon, Blur, Rolling Stones, CCR, undertones, Steppenwolf, RHCP and the Kinks. LC (Gary)
Gutted It's my friends birthday meal this weekend. I'd have loved to have come to this.... Particularly if your steppenwolf track is "Born to be Wild" *Debs tantrums that she can't come*
 24. How long did it take you to get it to sound OK? Had my first experience on it in my lesson today and it's sooooooo hard, although I know I will be chuffed to bits when I can do it
