  1. Is anyone in a band with a very specific concept? Or had a good idea for a concept? I'm thinking it would be fun to start a band as a side project consisting of the classic four-piece lineup of drums/bass/guitar/vocals playing 70's punk style versions of 70s disco songs - is this a genius idea or a daft idea?
  2. Spanish Stroll — Mink De Ville
  3. Lazy Sunday — Small Faces
  4. Taste Of Bitter Love — Gladys Knight & The Pips
  5. Katie's Been Gone — Bob Dylan & The Band
  6. He's In The Jailhouse Now — Memphis Jug Band
  7. Ouch! Oh Baby — The Kelly Brothers
  8. Highway 49 — Howlin' Wolf
  9. Rock n Roll Dalmation — AC/DC

  11. Cracked Actor — David Bowie
  12. That foam doesn't look up to the job — I'd be surprised if that is all that's holding up the bridge pickup on mine. When I built a bitzer fretless precision about 15 years ago, I cut up a fabric topped neoprene mousemat (50p from ikea at the time) and stuck several layers stacked up to make a firm cushion. It worked like a champ and is still holding up.
  13. Mine's a lot higher than that — I managed to raise my bridge pickup so the string just misses it when playing the highest string on each string. The neck pickup had to be quite a bit lower than the bridge one to match the volumes. I haven't dismantled that part of my bass (yet) so I don't know whether springs or foam are involved to know what's causing yours to not want to raise up.
  14. I'm sure there are, but don't tell me, tell Gibson.
  15. My bandmates only mention my playing when I play a song without any wrong notes. As far as I'm concerned any right:wrong note ratio of over 0.5 is a win. Life's too short to be in a band with an a-hole. In my previous band it was the drummer and in the one before that it was the second guitarist. In my current band there doesn't seem to be one, so I'm a little worried that it might be me.
  16. Original Thunderbird pickups and modern reproduction versions have bars rather than individual poles like an upscaled version of the firebird pickup.
  17. Somebody Stole My Thunder — Georgie Fame
  18. All The Small Things — Blink 182
  19. Even better its Nickel. This is a great price for a vintage pro for someone in that area. My white one came from cash converters (couriered and including an epi hard case) at a price where it was rude not to.
  20. Happy Ending — Randy Newman
  21. Whorey Angel — Betty Davis
  22. Pentatonic Smile — Laraaji
  23. Hallo Spaceboy — David Bowie
  24. Is that 'tone' knotty pine
  25. When Gibson can sell Greeny Les Pauls with a Kirk Hammett meet & greet for $50k, and the non-meet & greet version for £20k, why would they bend over backwards to cater for bass players? There are a lot more dentists and lawyers guitarists than bass players who would spend that kind of money on an instrument.
