  1. I once had a Capri that fell apart when it hit 50😂
  2. True, but you should see the shapes I can throw. They keep my osteopath wealthy.
  3. Hello Glenn. Excellent attitude. I really hope it works out for you and the Gigging Glenn becomes a reality. Try to play with others, even if they are better than you - this need not necessarily be in a gigging environment. You'll pick up examples of when to sit back and when to play harder; when to let the music breathe, etc. The more you become involved, the easier it will be to get that band together - maybe even well-before you retire. Best Snorkie
  4. I dream of being able to play. đŸĨ´
  5. You should have told me. I'd have gone quietly into a corner and cried. 😭
  6. Good for you Tony. Keep on keeping on. Enjoy. 👍
  7. Gudbye, Gudbye -Slade
  8. I can't even remember being 50. I'll ask my carer if I have done anything of interest since then. Now, where did I leave my carer? Bass? Is it a type of fish?
  9. I was thinking such as Badge by Cream, Dancin' in the Moonlight by Lizzy, the aforementioned The Chain by Fleetwood Mac, So What by Miles, etc. i'm sure there are thousands of songs/tunes out there that demand specific basslines or whatever is being played, ceases to capture some quintessence of the piece in some way. 😊
  10. Going Underground - the Jam
  11. Yum, yum. 'Nough said. 😍
  12. Or was he ... ... ? 🤔
  13. True enough. It has to be 'the song' in a recognisable form (unless jazz - niiiiiiice!) and, as you say key bass parts need to be there - imagine 'The Chain' without McVie's bass part. There's a whole new thread there: songs containing bass parts, without which, they would not work.
  14. Go for it. If I want to hear the exact bass line from anything recorded, I'll listen to the recording thank you very much.
  15. Gas attack! Masks on! Danger! Danger! 😋
  16. Sounds like a total sphinc*er. No doubt, as it's Friday, he'll be polishing his instrument before wowing them down the Cat and Piddle tonight. Rock on Tommy.
  17. Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush
  18. Checkin' Up on My Baby - Taj Mahal
  19. "Oofya, oofya!" and many other such disconcerting, involuntary exclamations of immense approval emanating currently and floating around my house. GLWTS
  20. that sounds reasonable.
  21. Remember him! I've been trying to forget him for decades!
  22. For a moment there, I thought that was Oscar Wilde on the right. 'Never knew he sang?', thought I to myself. 😄
  23. I was really lucky and got Grumpy as my guitarist. ☚ī¸
