1. **Now Sold through BC. Thanks** This neck came off a 50's roadworn P Bass. I've had it on a project bass for over 2 years. One piece maple neck with a 1.75" nut. A section of the nut did crack as I was stringing this with heavy gauge La Bella strings. I glued it at the time (over 2 years ago) and there's never been an issue since. Everyone raves about these necks, and they really are fantastic. An impulse buy of a 1982 JV Precision forces the sale of this and many other items of my bass gear. The photos below seem to be quite bright. For example, while the back of the neck is worn (as these are) there's nowhere near as vast a contrast between the different sections. The neck, mainly the headstock, has gained a few more dings over the last few years. There's nothing that affects playability though. I foolishly and rather shoddily removed the serial number on the back of the headstock as I had planned to add a strap button. I only later realised that strap buttons weren't actually period correct for a 1957 style bass!! Act in haste, repent at leisure! This really is a reluctant sale, so depending on what other items I sell, this may well be withdrawn to await the next project. I just hope the JV is worth it in the long run! Any questions, please ask. 3. Body from a Made in USA Fender Precision Highway One Bass. The wood is Alder and weighs approx. 4lbs. These came with a nitro finish, and this one is in matte black. This is more than a little 'roadworn'. This effect largely came from simply rubbing cellulose thinner on the nitro finish (no sanding was involved!). Although there are many others dings and knocks, which I've tried to capture in the photos. Luckily the majority of messing around was done on the back. Might be of interest to someone who wants to completely remove the black finish or who is ok with it the way it is. As shown in the photo with the pickguard (which is not included, but for sale separately), it looks a lot better when the screw holes are in use. Any questions, please ask! 4.
That is tempting! The 4 or 5 hours travelling up and down is not though... When you say it wasn't very versatile, was it just always crunchy with only being 100 watts?
I'm definitely not an expert (or anywhere near it) on amps, but I just felt there wasn't a huge range of sounds available from it. I've always preferred Ampegs as well, so maybe I'm biased. Also, it's not on all tube amp, so it didn't have that classic tube sound. Don't underestimate the weight of this thing. It was a pain to get around, even in it's flight case. I'm sure he might be open to meeting you half way. He was a nice guy, and I remember he used to just go all over the country buying bass related bits.
5. I used to own this exact amp!! I liked it, although didn't find it very versatile, and it weighed a tonne. I'm sure you'd get him down on that price, by at least €100 IIRC!!
6.
Try Rothko and Frost
+1. Used them before and very happy with the overall service.
7. Here you go. Sorry about the glare...(edit)...and the huge photo! Struggling on mobile!
8. Hi, To my eyes at least, it looks to be from the 57/58 to 64 era. It seems to look idenitcal to a set I bought that purported to be from that era. Paddy
9. Gary answered my item wanted ad for a 12 string bass. He was great to deal with and completely honest about the strengths of limitations of his 12 string bass, which I've since bought. The bass was in excellent condition, it arrived quickly and was very well packed. I'd highly recommend Gary to anyone on BC. Cheers, Paddy
10. This is a little bit delayed, but I'm a very happy repeat customer of John's. I needed another set of vintage repro pickups and pots wired up back in July, and John was my first and only port of call. He did a great job and made it fool proof for me to install. I also took the opportunity to get one of John's renowned solderless kits for another P Bass project. I was really happy with this. A top job all round. I can't recommend John highly enough.
11. Funny, not a single word about the bass in the description.

13. I just sold some tuners to Tony. It was a quick and smooth transaction. I'd highly recommend Tony to anyone.
14. They're the Fender manufactured ones (or at least they came in Fender packaging) and they won't sit flush unless the small extra holes are bored. These are the ones that come on American Vintage basses.
15. Set of four genuine Fender reverse tuners with bushes and screws. I used these on a P Bass, but I think they also fit a Jazz. £50 posted within UK Bank transfer preferred
16.
Hi Paddy, Can you tell me how old the pickups are and where they originated, might be interested in these. Cheers Rowley
Hi, I bought them brand new, in about April of 2012 IIRC. They are the ones that are now branded as 'Original' pickups. They were previosuly called the 'Original 62' pickups. Cheers, Paddy
17. For sale are a set of Fender Precision 62 Reissue Pickups that are fully wired as per the correct 1962 spec. These are priced much cheaper than the sum of their parts. Included are the pickups, brass plate, cloth wiring, CTS pots, switchcraft jack and repro ceramic capacitor. These are mroe period correct than the those found in the stock '62 AVRI. The wiring was done for me by KiOgan. Ready to plug and play! any questions, just ask. Cheers, Paddy
18. [sub]Bump for price drop![/sub]
19. Worth noting that this appears to be a '62 Reissue MIJ, and a lovely one at that. Have a bump!

22. Maybe you're just more proficient with a pick. I know I was that way for a long time, although I think it's swung the other way now.
