1. I went for keys... Along with that I'd include hammond organ and some boogie-woogie piano.
2. Have played guitar for 9 years or so, and occasionally picked up a bass. Until back in spring this year, when I got myself a bass and decided to have a 'proper go at it', mainly because I was taking over bass duties in a band when the bassist was absent (often). Now I think I might prefer bass (playing in the band), and might even suggest dropping the few numbers I pick up a guitar for... So, a guitarist and hopefully becoming a bassist as well (not a guitarist who "plays a bit of bass"). Certainly enjoy playing both, but in a band context the bass can be more fun.
3. I have the Yamaha guitalele. Lots of fun to pick up and play, sounds decent for its size to me, and they're not expensive. Have strap it to my backpack and taken it camping on a couple of occasions, which goes down well.
4. A fair few minor ones that are easily corrected and (probably) not noticed by anyone... Most fun (during rehearsals) is when there's a stop in a song which everyone except one forgets. Making the correct person sound wrong, followed by dirty looks from them and "We, er, decided to do it a bit different that time. Er, didn't you catch on?" from the rest... (Then followed by: "From the top, and we'll get it right this time.")
5. Plaster Caster - Kiss Under The Fog - The King Blues Baba O'Riley - The Who Slide Away - Oasis In For The Kill - La Roux My Love - Paul McCartney & Wings You Give Love A Bad Name - Bon Jovi Love Blues - Keb' Mo' Stop Breaking Down Blues - Robert Johnson Roll Over Beethoven - The Beatles With a bit of change of order, I reckon that could make a decent set.
6. Looking to sell my Behringer X V-Amp guitar amp modeller and multi-effects pedal. Had for many a year now, but hasn't been used for the last few, so would like it to be better employed. Not top-grade equipment, but a handy and cheap way to check out lots of effects and amp sims. Comes with original box (and manual if I can find it) and power supply. Selling for £20 to be collected in Essex, delivered in Essex, or I can post for the price Royal Mail charges.
7. Cheddatom - It isn't the best site for searching how you describe (perhaps because they have such an extensive range). Is there a number on the site? Might be worth ringing them for a chat about your requirements, I've always found them very helpful in store
8. Their physical shop is not far from me, and they've always been just as great in person. (Having massive range of strings and accessories at hand also means I always end up picking up lots of bits-and-bobs while I'm there!)
9. Well, I'm really a guitarist (for around 9 years now), but as a bit of a side project with some of the band I'm playing bass. Have dabbled now and again, but looking to get into it all a bit more "properly" this time. I'll be playing bass in a blues power trio - classic blues rock covers, like Cream etc. really. Am putting together a rig for rehearsal through the 'For Sale' section on hear, and getting hold of a bass. Any tips on gear and playing much appreciated, though there is plenty on the forum I'm looking through already. Cheers!
10. Had a week of gigging (basically) every night with the band. Every night tuning up the spare guitar, and having it on a stand ready to go at a moments notice, but never needing it. Until the final gig (with joint largest crowd any of us have performed in front of) I don't bother to tune up or un-bag the spare... as you can guess, that's the one time the guitar in my hands decides to play up straight away!
11. For sale for £45, an Ashdown Perfect Ten practice combo. Technical details can be found on http://www.ashdownmusic.com/ under Bass -> All Access -> Perfect Ten. I'm far from an expert, but it has done me well as a practice rig. It's in good condition and sounds all OK, with everything working as it should as far as I'm aware. It's not the lightest (for a practice combo), though. Would like cash on collection, from Rayleigh in Essex. Or I can probably deliver around Essex. Any question, please feel free to ask away. Thanks for looking!
