1. Fantastic! Must catch these guys at some point.
2.
Come down to Devon/Somerset and re-assess. You'd need very few fingers to count the number of music shops with a proper bass department...
Am I the only one itching to make a joke about the west country/number of fingers?
3. I do agree in general. I always think that the sax players I work with can 'get away' with a lot more than bassplayers. A silghtly 'out' lick will always sound better on sax than bass in my opinion. It means we have to work extra hard to sound good.

SOLD

PM'd.
5. I was going to offer an overwater/tanglewood classic jazz plus cash. Where are you based?
6. Hi Andy. Interested in any trades? Cheers. Mike
7. Good price! I sold one recently.
8. Where is the bass located please?
9. I've already gone on about these guys in another thread, but I've had numerous positive experiences in this store with Laurence, Tom and others. I have already dropped about £1200 on USA jazz deluxe and am almost saved up for the 5 string version. I am also planning on buying other accessories from them. They strike me as on the level, customer service oriented and savvy when it comes on online reputation. Keep up the good work guys!
10. Thanks Rich! Hope the fretless 5 is treating you well! This is still available.
11. Hi everyone! Selling my Roland TD6 digital kit. I use this jamming along with my ipod - lots of fun! Over a hundred inbuilt kits, MIDI compatible, songs you can play along with - all for £195! Good condition, comes with PSU, all pedals etc and fully working! Based in Chelmsford Essex - pickup only! Thanks Mike
12. Something that really helped with my intonation on both fretless and double bass was to use organ drones - literally a few minutes of an organ playing a C, for example, and playing through scales, arpeggios, melodies with the C for constant reference. Really highlights any intonation problems. These aren't the ones I have but there are some here: http://www.2reed.net/awesome.html. Also some others here: https://www.idrs.org/multimedia/midi/PUB/Drones.htm Good luck!
13. As I say, I took this on tour with a professional orchestra and it sounded amazing! I just need the money and already have another couple of 4st jazzes!
14. Cheers Richard! Bump!
15. Interesting! Where are you based?
16.
Do you have the weight please ?
Hey! 10lbs on my slightly dodgy digital bathroom scales!
17. Great thread, Richard.
18. Yep, all about starting slow. "River people" by Weather Report is a good track to work on octave movement.
