1. Pino Palladino - fretless Stingray through a Boss OC-2 octaver. And, watch out for the ghost on the audience at 0:12!!! Hahaha
2. Just checked my Amazon account. My 14 album Discovery remasters boxset is "being prepared for despatch". Yay! Should have it on Monday or Tuesday.
3. 1976 - I was fourteen and the punk thing was just exploding. Eddie and The Hot Rods werenever considered "punk, more like pub rock as someone mentioned earlier. I bought the Damned, Damne, Damned album, which is generally considered the first punk album released. The Sex Pistols were pretty much the thing the papers vented their rage onto. Just remember something, one of my friend's at school asked me "have you heard the Sex Pisols new single? It's calledCrispy Pancakes!". Turned out he was referring to "Pretty Vacant"!! Hahaha. And still to this day, whenever I hear Pretty Vacant, I think "Crispy Pancakes"!! Hahaha

5. Did a google search for Paisley shipping and there's no such company. Did you mean "Paisley Freight"?
6. Fantastic!!! Thanks for the info mate
7. Having your ears syringed is amazing! I remember the first time I had it done, I left the doctor's surgery and stuck the keys in my car ignition. Sounded like the engine was being played through Motörhead's PA system!!! Even silly little things like rubbing your fingers together beside your ear is incredible, you can hear every tiny sound.
8. Another great bass intro is when JJ blasts his P-Bass on "Nice 'n' Sleazy". Fantastic stuff. JJ Burnel was the reason I took up playing bass!!
9. Here's Alex from The Gallery trying out his Kingbass in his bedroom
10. P bass played with a pick, through a Marshall guitar head into a cab with a knacketed speaker apparently. Sounds great though, huh?
11. Good reply Alex. Incidentally, congratulations in advance for Saturday! Hope your wedding goes great, and I hope you both have a wonderful life together. Speak to you soon, Kev
12. Kent is a great guy! His son Aaron deals with most of the pickup stuff these days as far as I'm aware. Also, Kent's dad was thr famous Dan Armstrong - the bloke responsible for the classic "plug in" guitar effects, and the plexiglass guitars and basses. Oh yeah, forgot to add my recommendation to the pickups themselves, really great items
13. Ive been using DRs for about thr past 10 years and have never experienced any problems at all. Inlace the Hi-Beams and Lo-Riders
14. Everyone has their own reference ppiints. For me, it's always been Pino Palladino. Saw him live on New Years Evw 1981 and it changed my perception of how fluid a bass player could be. And, even though he's now a friend of mine, I am still inspired by his playing.
15. That's great!
16. That's great!
17. I've got a pair of Gretsch mini humbuckers out of an Electromatic Pro Jet 6 stringer. Free to anyone who wants them, just drop me a PM.
18. Glad you had a good time at The Gallery mate. The bloke who assisted you - if he had a shaved head, that would have been John Chapman, great guy (he's actually just completed a new custom built guitar for my brother). If he had shoulder length hair, that will have been Martin, the owner. Great guy and a great friend of mine for many, many years
19. I actually loved Geddy's bass sound when I saw them in May. It sounded amazing where I was sitting - directly in line with the mixing desk (so maybe I had the luxury of hearing what the house engineers were hearing also?
20. I actually love the way it looks. And, after trying one out at the Warwick store in New York, I was amazed at how incredibly comfortable it is. As for this bloke's listing, he's a total numpty if he thinks he can ask over 10 times the Market value of a great condition example.
21. I started playing age 14, that was 33 years ago - where has the time gone? High points? Playing at the Monaco Grand Prix at the VIP Amber Lounge, backing up Tom Jones at one point Playing for Chris Rea - great guy and amazing slide player Best overall is making so many great friend's over the years, some of whom have managed to get high profile gigs and still retain their humble attitude - such as Pino, Paul Turner, Marco Mendoza, etc, etc. Low points? A female keyboard player I was setting up a new project with about 10 years ago - tragically died 2 daysbrfire our first gig. That was a truly terrible time.
22. Okay Andy, the DVD will be on it's way to you tomorrow, and there's no charge for postage matey!
23. DVD looking for a good home. Anyone who wants this as a freebie, just drop me a PM
