Assuming that nothing is actually attached to the plate, you could consider fixing it onto the bass with something like photographic adhesive spray - then you wouldn't need to put screw holes into your lovely bass. G.

You need a mechanics degree & a user's manual just to play that bass!!! I can be impressed by it all, but find it self-indulgent and relates little to what I do. G.
