  1. This bass looks so nice that I just bought some root beer as consolation...
  2. Mate, it's not even close: check this out
  3. https://papianezo.ecrater.com/c/2149631/elements-collection?sp=1 Or $600k for the lot, though to be fair it's free shipping. Apparently they have been 'crystallized by nature's power', which is nice.
  4. Very cool demo mate! Must try one of these one day...
  5. Too right Stew! Lee, I love mine - sounds immense with either the stock Elite SS or La Bella 760M deep talkin' flats - and I'm tempted to buy another so I don't have to keep string swapping!
  6. Enjoyed that Andy - thanks for posting! Can see that building very nicely into a full song.
  7. Hi, lovely bass - may I ask the string spacing at the bridge please? Cheers
  8. What a beauty! Please may I ask the string spacing, and whether UK postage is an option? Cheers
  9. So two choices where to put the G string then...
  10. So the bass doesn't come with a mute - that's the Sooty version
  11. And Rich was a gent to deal with These Xotics are very good 'first 5 string' basses because of the string spacing, IMO. Passive and active tones are lovely too. Looks great against those TKS cabs!
  12. Delighted to be first to post feedback for Rich, just had a flawless transaction when he bought my Xotic 5 - fast payment and rapid, friendly communications throughout. Happy to recommend you, thanks Rich!
  13. Wow! A Fab job for not much Lolly. Will be trying this myself
  14. I think the more resistant thick foam rubber mute (like the original Fender) is best suited to La Bella Deep Talkin' 760M or similar heavy gauge flats; I find it damps lighter gauges more than I want.
  15. Pipe lagging, great idea - the original Fender mute was akin to (or possibly was) weather stripping foam. I wonder if mute over vs. mute under makes a difference: assuming a pluck of the string drives the string downward, then having the mute underneath should in theory affect the attack quicker than a mute above (where the muting starts on the first rebound of the wave).
  16. Superb build quality, even the gig bag is superior! I had a 3TS version and miss it. GLWS
  17. Thanks, I was trying to remember the name! As I recall it got hit by a boat and was either fully or partially rebuilt some years ag, after I moved, but I certainly crossed over the original :)
  18. I need to watch that - I grew up in Twickenham and we'd occasionally run over the old bridge to Eel Pie island. Too young for the club though!
  19. Cool, good to know. I bet the Aguilars sound excellent. And you're right! Now I remember that the generic gold bridge cover I bought would not fit, as it was designed for a BBOT rather than the more substantial Schaller 3D bridge. Cheers and take care
  20. Ah, my old bass 'Goldfinger' originally commisioned from Sandberg in 2014! I used to have gold bell and bridge covers on it, with Optima gold strings to complete the look :) Do you still have the Klopmann PB63 pickup it originally came with Vic? A terrific bass, GLWTS !
  21. Brilliant, thanks very much for taking the time to check and transcribe Joe! I'll use that as a basis for the rest of the song. Much appreciated!
