[b]Price:[/b] £1100 No trades this time thanks [b]Specifications:[/b] As per the spec sheet, except the current strings are Fender Nickle Steel rounds. [b]Playing condition:[/b] Full working order, no issues. [b]Cosmetic condition:[/b] Generally excellent, a small scuff on side of fretboard (see pic) and a tiny scratch on the back side of the right horn which I struggled to capture on camera. Some small light marks on the headstock. Minor scuffing on pickguard, only visible to me when I hold it up to the light. One of the back control cavity screws was missing so I replaced it, albeit with a chrome screw rather than black. The string-through option really does make a difference here! More bite and sustain The build quality is sheer class, from the rock solid bridge and tuners, tight neck pocket and bolts and those lovely wooden pup covers....and the luminous fingerboard and side dot markers really help on a dark stage! [b]Width at nut:[/b] 41 mm. [b]Weight:[/b] A touch over 4.1 Kg according to the usual kitchen/bathroom scales average. [b]Comes with:[/b] An Xotic gig bag so good and multi-pocketed that you could probably live in it for a temporary period. Tough as boots and has some marking to show it (see pics) but all zips attached and working. Strung with Fender nickle rounds and I will provide some flats as well (not sure of the brand but they're nice) [b]History:[/b] It has Basschat previous! I was considering bidding and asked Wal regarding restoration and they sent a very detailed response. As you suggest major neck work would be the significant expense, and also uncertainty that the electronics worked (notwithstanding the failed pots). And it seems likely that it was a replacement (non-JG) neck. I wasn't prepared to take a chance on extra expense/wait for servicing - but congrats to the winner, hope there's nothing major wrong and they are enjoying it soon

The Pro IIe preceded the custom Wal and has a different preamp, without the custom's low-pass filters, but does include various boost functions. I can't see anything quite like it on the Wal History site, any thoughts welcome!

The ability to hear your playing will be dictated by the volume of the rest of the band, and speaker dispersion. The best cabs disperse sound better so that it can be heard from the most angles; a good single speaker cab (e.g. a 1x15") will disperse very well. Tilting the cab to point towards your ears will help. You may also find you hear yourself better being further away from the bass cab than you may think. The high mids/treble will be what 'cut through the mix' , i.e. help you get heard, for which the TH 350 tone controls will be a great help. Finally: if you're in the volume wars, ear protectors (that still let you hear the music) are well worth considering, e.g. [url="https://www.flareaudio.com/collections/isolate"]https://www.flareaudio.com/collections/isolate[/url] Good luck!

    Just bought Jamie's superb Xotic XP-1. Terrific chap who went the extra mile - in fact, extra 60 miles! - to deliver it in person. Bass was just as described and plays like a dream, and Jamie was friendly and communicative throughout. Cheers!
