  1. It appears that one of the pickups is actually hollow, so I dont if the lower pickup is aftermarket. Will take it apart and take some photos. Any valuations so far? Its certainly pretty. http://s18.postimg.org/70mvgk6ax/IMG_20150427_141809455.jpg The inside of the control cavity. Those are some big pots. I thought it was 80s. Says on the back made in japan
  2. +1 to the music man sub club! Its my fave bass to play with others, you can just get so much punch out of it. Although as has been said earlier you can't go wrong replacing the awfull metal scratchplate. I'm debating about putting on a brighter colour scatchplate on mine, currently black on gray bass.

  4. Hello guys. Recently brought a job lot of basses and guitars to give a clean up and sell on, two where more interesting than the others. One is a Kay k20-b which I don't actually know if I'm allowed to talk about. The other is a antoria jazz bass with a rather interesting pickup configuration. I'm not 100% but they seem to be either humbuckers or fideletrons or something of the like and I just wondered of anyone could shed some light on the bass. Ben
  5. It looks amazing, if I had anything of the age I'd trade in a heartbeat. Good luck!
  6. What pick ups are you planning on using? I have the squire tele and I personally think the humbucker is the best sound and find the jazz pickup a bit lifeless.. Might be my playing style!
  7. I think that's got to be the nicest bass I have ever seen. Just wow. Best of luck!
  8. Can anyone recommend some equally sized drivers for this? I was looking at a pair of peavy black widows but I think as its really a Marshall that might not sell well. Also been looking at tuff cab paint, the tolex is truly rough. Anyone have any experience with it?
  9. Hmm, I think I'l just put a cloth over the front and sell it as "relic". Might get A couple of quid for it.
  10. Sorry for the double post again guys. Measured the ohms of the drivers and the top is 10 ohm, the bottom is 7 ohm and both in parallel is 4. That should make it easier to find a head. My next question is is it worth restoring, the tolex has seen better days and it 100% needs a cloth before the center of the speakers gets any worse haha. If ANYONE has a picture of what it looked like originally I would be super grateful. Ta. Ben
  11. How close are you to Plymouth? Thanks!
  12. Do you have (by a mystical mythical miracle) a picture of it? I want to know what it looked like so I can recreate it!
  13. Where would I find info on the cab? I tested the speakers and they are both working but I can't find any info on the output or impedance. They are wired in parallel so that leads me towards 4 ohm. I'm glad I don't have to worry about the rust, is there anything I can do to improve it? Thanks guys!
  14. Round two: I removed the back, seems like they might be 15" speakers. No markings and a whole lot of filth. No wonder it weighs so much! Photos attached. The center of the speakers looks a little errrm, rusty. Would that make a difference to the sound? Ben
  15. I guess that backs up the age to the 70s but doesn't seem to have any details of specific models. I was hoping someone would know a model number or similar so I can get parts to fix it up. I guess Il find out more once I take the back off!
  16. Hello all! Today I bought a bass cab, have been told its from the 70s but the previous owner knew absolutely nothing about it. It appears to be a Park 2x12, it's passively powered and I think didn't originally have the (uberugly) grills. Anyone know anything about it or recognize it? I'll open it up tomorrow and see what's inside it, will post pictures too. Ta muchly! Ben
  17. theres a GK app? Looking Up! Edit: Looked it up and its hell of a lot better than the Amplitube app, nice sounds quality and works through the clean of my amp thanks for that!
  18. A few months ago i bought an IRig for Ipad for my friend's electric guitar, he recently lent it to me because he is no longer using it so i thought, hey, lets give it a go on the bass... THE TONE IS HORRIBLE! all i get is screeching on effects through Garage Band for Ipad and Its Impossible to use properly on the amp. Anyone know any ways to get some lows from it and maintain the clarity of sound?? I only want to use it as a (cheap digital) effects emulator! Thanks, Ben
  19. Will they let you send back one if it's not broken and also been gigged? Actually they look pretty epic to be honest, I don't know much about them but them but being 'wobbly' and light cause problems when they are turned up loud? £500 sounds like a worthy investment!
  20. If bagpipes where made from sheeps stomachs they would be edible. Yummy!

  22. Taking this as a no then. How could a brand disappear so quickly? :L
