1.
So, um, I've got this black cherry 2007 Gibson Les Paul Double Cut (later model with walnut "tone plate" a la Money bass).
I have been casually looking for a Money bass for a while. What are they like? Can the neck pickup sound tonally like a Grabber?
 2.
I suddenly remembered that some time ago, I found a Mazeti guitar in a Derby Pawn shop. I remember thinking that it didn't look nearly so convincing in the flesh s it did on ebay. Reviews online are mixed, but this basschat thread contains some good reviews for some other Mazeti instruments. Edit: £15 delivery seems quite reasonable for the Mazeti, given that surely it must weigh a ton. Also, while I said that it was unlikely that anyone would find a seven string for that price, I think that HK basses may have sold for reasonable prices for what they are, though maybe not as cheap as £250 (and it's possible the Mazeti might go for less).. If I remember correctly (which often I don't), the HK basses were German designed and Korean made. And IMHO they look the bees knees.
My old one that (And my old photo!). The pickups weren't aligned correctly, so the lowest and highest string was being picked up by one or the other pickup. Otherwise it was an alright bass.
 3. Pretty sure this one used to be mine before the modifications. I remember very similar dinks in the headstock. Loved the dark rosewood board and low action
 4.
That's what wall hangers are for!
Rental property, not happening. I currently have all my worldly possessions and bed in a room the same size as my old room for just instruments way back when.
 5.
I'd really like to agree, but the fact is I'm still missing my 76P which I had from new. *Sob*
Toying with the idea of the Grabber at the moment. I know I would miss it! But I really need the space! The Antigua doesn't appear to be shifting at the moment either. Maybe I have to rethink prices.
 6. At the moment I am looking at doing the same thing, I have two custom basses incoming and have been considering selling off the rest for a long time. Though it's more down to space concerns.
 7.
Interesting, like you say everyone (myself included) seems to associate it with a break, good to know its not always true. I know its a weak spot on a few les pauls as well, in my old band both guys split their headstocks from that point.
I was surprised to find a scarf joint on any Gibson before I got my Grabber. Turns out they "Could" make them, and would strengthen up 99% of their guitar output. But choose not to. Scarf joints are much stronger.
 8.
Haha well spotted, its about the only one I've seen for sale that hasn't had a headstock/neck repair.
Most of them don't have a neck/headstock repair, but is infact a scarf joint where the finish has worn from around the edges to make it look like a break. I picked up a very worn Grabber neck for £50 on Ebay that was sold as having a broken headstock repair. Where in fact it is just the scarf joint.
 9.
Top notch build quality there! Half a neck pocket: Wonky neck plate:
Pretty similar to all Grabbers unfortunately!
 10. Hey guys. Just ordered one sight unseen to build up my credit rating. Got one in Chocolate with case for £500 or £50 deposit plus 12 payments of £40. Anyone have much experience with these guitars? Not that thrilled about black tuners or the black plastic humbuckers, but for the price you cant really complain! Can anyone recommend a string set that can be bought of the shelf that is specific to true drop tunings? (IE DR Drop tune is not this!) Cheers!
 11. I remember this one on Ebay a few years back. The fingerboard is not original and is made of Ebony.
 12.
Yeah, but something is wrong. You'd expect the bass would sound like a punchier Jazz Bass - it has the same wiring and similar PU layout. In Jazz Bass when two PU's are on the same volume level (balanced, that is), it has an even sound (you'd say - a balance between the sound of either PU's). But in this bass - it doesn't happen. If both PU's are balanced, the instrument sounds much brighter and with less low end (sort of like when a humbucker has reversed phase or two humbuckers are set in series). The effect stops whenever either pickup is set on higher volume than other. I was thinking that maybe it occurs because one of the coils is set improperly and it results in improper phase or something?
Switch the bridge pickups wires with each other. R

 14. Fretting has been done and so have the neck profile, Final sanding, Finishing and hardware installation to go! 15. Looks like hes reduced the price to £385. Surely a bargain for someone?
 16. http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/gibson-victory-standard-bass-made-in-usa/1042885558 Interesting looking bass at a reasonable price. Not far from me either but the wrong time of year! I could pick this up for someone though if you're desperate? EDIT: Looks like he reduced the price.
 17. Will possibly entertain with trades and parts exchanges with cash either way. Most interested in Stingray type basses.
 18. http://www.ebay.co.u...=item20dc6c5a12 Pretty cheap!
 19.
Bargain!
I am surprised how few trade offers I have had! Had two near deals completed but both pulled out at the last minute.
 20. Absolute final reduction.
