1. Hey guys. Just recorded my first live rough as heck demo with my new stoner/prog/rock band. One take only. Gibson Grabber with the pup slid to the neck. Sansamp VT bass Deluxe Power amp Hi-watt 1x15 2x10. Everything mic'd up. I am also doing lead vocals (They are terrible I know my first time, but no one else in the band wanted to do it.) We are tuned drop C, somethings up with my tuning/intonation as the bass sounds a little flat. Otherwise I love my tone. https://soundcloud.com/chinspinner/oubliette?in=chinspinner/sets/demo https://soundcloud.com/chinspinner/stereobeard https://soundcloud.com/chinspinner/hamfist What say you guys? I'll be honest, it might not sound brilliant, but I am bloody proud of it, never thought I could get in front of a mic and belt it out and get something close to the tone that I want.
 2. Ok, I have re-appraised the bass, it needs a bit more work then first described and as such I have dropped the price of the bass. People who can locally pickup will get first refusal.
 3.
Curious... Mine has exactly the same thing! I've had it for about 4 years now and it has not caused me any grief whatsoever BTW to any prospective buyers: £200 is a brilliant price for one of these. I paid £280 for mine and that was without any upgrades. I'm assuming if you took out the preamp it would be exactly the same as a stock one?
Not sure if it is the original passive pots and such, this was all done before I received it. So you might need to get a new electrics harness! Pickups are original though!
 4. Hey guys. Due to personal problems I need to sell up some spare gear to help pay off debt. This bass is only £130! I have a Peavey Grind NTB 6 string bass project. This is a neck thru bass with fairly narrow string spacing. It does have some play wear and a few dings and scratches. There is a small crack in the wood near the B string tuner but does not effect playability or sound, I imagine this could be repaired with some glue and a clamp. (I am told this a common problem with the Peavey Grind). There is also a small chunk taken off the end of the headstock, but does not effect the bass structurally. Made in Vietnam! The tuners look to be non original and in fairly poor condition (Missing washers), they do hold tune but looks like they have seen better days. I would recommend replacing them. The bass was originally passive but has been converted into an active bass with some sort of Ibanez Pre-amp, however the pre-amp does not produce any sound, though electrical current is running through it. Could be a simple rewire job, whole new pre-amp or convert the whole thing to a passive setup as it was originally. The truss rod is A-OK and the action is absolutely fine. This WILL be a lovely player with a proper set of strings and some care. The oil finish feels amazing! Pickup from Sutton or Wimbledon in London is MUCH preferred. At the moment I am not willing to post, though I may do in a few weeks time if it is still here. So If you want to get a BRILLIANT Neck thru 6 string at a bargain price, that needs a "little" work. Then get in contact! As the bass is a "Project" and needs work, I will only sell the bass "As is" and will not be accepting returns.
 5.
If nobody comes up with an offer or a trade I swear I'm going to keep it, cover it in flock wallpaper and have a scratchplate made out of kitsch lino. Then you'll all say "I wish I'd got hold of that when it looked nice".
Fine... Pmed
 6.
Just 'DO IT'!
Trade with my items!
 7.
I think you're very wrong about the Mex FSR's, I have both of them and they are fantastic to play, each to their own.
I had the FSR Antigua Mex Jazz and P, honestly, I much preferred the Warmoth...

As you can see the acton is very low!
 9. Mmmm, this is lovely! Interested in my 9lbs Brubaker Brute?
 10.
Surely drop C tuning is nature's way of telling you to get a 5-string!?
Not tuned to Drop C! Pretty hard to play and sing with songs in Drop C but on a 5 string tuned to B standard.
 11. This would be awesome! Alas no money. Plus not sure it could handle drop C!
 12. Washburn B-80, made in Japan. Fairly rare but not very valuable. Price would be between £150-£225 depending on condition.
 13.
hi do you want to trade with my BRUBAKER BRUTE 5 SADOWSKY PICKUPS, DEMETER PREAMP regards
Sorry, but it's not for me! If it were the one with the Musicman pickup I would have said yes!
 14. Thread has been cleared upon the agreement of myself and the OP.
 15.
Looks awesome mate, I have a soft spot for single cut right now too. Too bad I don't do chrome.
Cheers! Chrome is no problem come on! Bump!
 16. Hmm looks like the guy who promised to buy it may have pulled out of it. So back up for sale for the mo.
 17.
Thanks mate - to be honest he's flagrantly ignored the rules by stating price = £0... cheeky git Can I just ask - did you spot this and unapprove? Just want to check what the system is doing. Cheers
Yes, spotted it and unapproved. TBH I had already brought up the fact that selling multiple basses in the same thread with the new system would be confusing as we ask them to state a single price.
 18. Up for sale is my practically new Brubaker Brute Single cut. I am selling/trading/Part exchanging because I require a 4 string passive bass for stoner rock (Like an old Guild or Jap bass something like that!) 5/6 string bass or a guitar. I would love to straight trade for a Brubaker Brute 5 string singlecut! The only requirement I have on trade instruments is that the action be very low and have enough intonation range to incorporate downtuning. I am still sort of on the fence whether I like the singlecut design itself. What sold it to me was playability and sound. Pound for pound it played like the Shuker Melt singlecut that I owned very briefly. Compound radius neck really does feel good! Action is very low, much like the shuker, though obviously the fit and finish is not that of a £3000 bass. The frets are beautiful! Tonally it is like a very hot Musicman, aggressive two band pre-amp, the treble control is incredibly responsive. I dont really know how to describe this well, but you have to put in very little effort to get a big sound out of it. Whereas some basses (Mainly low output jazz's and precisions) you have to really whack it hard. It is incredibly lightweight and balances well. It is a very deep bolt on neck with no heel. Neck feels very neutral, does not taper as much as a jazz, probably more like a thinner precision neck. I would rate it over the Musicman USA SUBS I have had any day. If I were to say a bad thing about it, I am not hugely keen on the Jazz pup on it's own, I would have put it closer towards the MM pickup. With both pickups together it sounds very hi-fi and Zender like. The jazz pup on its own? Fairly vintage. Pretty sure it's the first Brute Singlecut sold in this country, and even possibly the first or second 4 string one sold in the world. It was unveiled in December 2012 and this actual bass was displayed at Winter Namm 2013 and at the London Bass guitar show. It comes with a "luxury" semi hard case. I may withdrawn this at any time because it is a fantastic bass. Pickup is much preferred from London. Otherwise I will post at the buyers expense. Reduced to just £320, no haggling please. Rob.
 19.
Ask your wife not to damage it too much as she beats you to death with it..JOOI what type of case will it come in if you bequeath it to me??
A semi hard case... Real nice case actually!
