BC's new classifieds section - your opinions please
Shockwave replied to ped's topic in General Discussion
I see that people like discussion in for sale threads, but also don't want them jumping to the top in less than 36 hours. I don't see how the two are compatible? The bump button is a good idea, but as soon as anyone posts in the thread it will be bumped anyway
I wonder if it is technically possible for a member to post in a thread, but not bump it at the same time... -
But if you are only selling a set of strings, for example, that price would be excessive and offputting. Maybe just charge a joining fee for the site itself? Then everyone pays a small amount rather than hitting the sellers disproportionately.
Although we do get new members all the time, many new members will be put off by a joining fee and not join altogether. I doubt Basschat will raise enough funds that way. I say a yearly flat fee will see the least amount of disruption. It is also a tested and proven method for a rival bass site. If it can be implemented, a percentage of the final sale price would be useful, but I have doubts that this could happen from a technical stand point. -

From an administration point of view, the new classifieds are easier. But from a sellers point of view, I preferred the old way. I think the old classifieds section with a subscription fee and bump button is a better solution. 1 - carried on using the regular marketplace forums - Yes 2 - charged a yearly subscription fee to be able to post adverts there (~£20) to help pay for developments - Yes or a "by listing" fee. 3 - installed a new 'bump' button which only works once every 36hrs on your thread - YES 4 - develop the marketplace to allow thumbnails next to threads for everyone - No, I dont think it is needed, I would still like the classifieds to look like a forum setup. Less cluttered, more adverts on one screen. 5 - develop a better form for selling items with fields for things like location, price, etc to make adverts clearer - This is something I have been pushing for years, so yes. -

Hi guys. Like many of you I picked up the Zoom b9.1ut deal at GAK recently. However it is a very complicated bit of kit! So a couple of questions. I had a quick blast on it in Manual mode last night, is there a way of preselecting patches before actually changing to that patch in manual mode? I assume you can do this in play mode? Can anyone tell me exactly what combination I would need to press? Lastly does anyone have some patch files that are better then some of the ridiculous ones that are on there stock?

Thinking of modding my Gibson RD Artist - thoughts?
Hmm, that's interesting. Thanks for the info. Pretty tempted by the Standard now. I don't even remotely have the cash for it though and don't think I could sell the Artist in the next couple if days. Don't think I could bare to sell it anyway, even if I had a Standard coming in..
Get Waghorn to build you one. Could be a sister to mine thats getting built! £400 will be enough for a deposit and for work to start. He will also do a very reasonable installment plan. -
Is there anything you would take in trade for this mate?
You can try me, but probably not. I would need something that has the same value as the guitar was when new. So anything that was £280 when it was brand new. Which I think sounds fair. Would need to be pretty easily sellable though. The cash process on this is ridiculously low for what your getting. R

Your bloody crazy Joe. But yes the pickups are passive so it will work. Just get a Novaselic sig and mod it. -
Anyone get a confirmation of order? I just got an acknowledgement.
You are in France, right? I guess it must be a territory thing - DV can't, or won't, reduce the price that much in the UK? It's either that or an extreme example of personalized pricing.
If you type in the french address then yes it is £101. http://www.dv247.fr/guitars/zoom-b9-1ut-bass-guitar-pedal-includes-power-supply--54019
