1. Stainless steel or nickel elixirs?
2. Do you have the original Pre-amp?
3. Bass has now sold to a member here for the full amount. Please check out my advert for a Fender Roger Waters precision which I am now taking part exchanges on for a cheap replacement 6 string bass!
4.
any sound slips ?
No sorry. Best I can do is describe it! Its a burpy modern tone. Lots of defined low end. Think of the band Infectious Grooves and you aren't a million miles away.
5. Hmm, I guess I am looking for something that will sound great with muted fingerstyle funk. For want of a better word, low end burp? Any ideas? I usually stick with Seymour Duncans as I can get them really easily. But if none of them will get what I want, I may consider others.
6. Hmm I may be having second thoughts on selling. Figured I am not a huge fan of SPB3's anymore. I tend to play with a gritty tone, but with higher powered pickups it tends to turn into overdrive mush, which is what I don't want. Maybe I should swap this out for an SPB1 or equivalent Dimarzio. What do you guys reckon? R
7. I have now fixed the pickup fault, it was a simple wiring issue, however I am keep the price down to just £800 for now.
8. For sale is an immaculate Fender Roger Waters bass. Made in early 2014 I only picked this up a few days ago, I have decided that P's are not the way for me to go right now. It's a great example of a Fender Roger Waters bass, Seymour Duncan SPB3 Quarter Pounders, Black body hardware and chrome tuners. 50's style neck with brass nut, fresh strings, no cracks in the paintwork/finish. 8.8lbs in weight. Plays well. Truss rod has plenty of adjustment. Frets are as new. Pickup from London only at the moment. If you have been looking for a new one of these, save your money and get this one. Comes with Fender Gig Bag. Reduced to just £425
9. So it's been a few days with it. The bass was supposed to be second hand, but its completely immaculate. Not a mark on her, smells like it is right out of the factory. I checked the neck pocket and it states a build date of March 2014. Nut is well cut and quite low, action is low and plenty of travel left in the truss rod. It's medium weight, not too heavy or too light. The neck is fairly solid. Not the most massive neck I have played, but still pretty substantial. Sounds like a turbocharged P bass with the SPB3 pickups. Honestly I am not sure whether I will keep it to be honest, as my Modern Player Jazz does cover the P bass tone quite well along with a range of others. Although this bass does the P tone all that much better. You may see a for sale thread up soon or I may start gigging it next week. We shall see!
10. Hey guys. I played one a while back at Wunjos, didn't have the money for it and spent on a Fender Modern Player Jazz, which I really enjoy playing. The Roger Waters was quite light and with a great tone, love the standard brass nut. Didn't like the half black/chrome looks or the Floyd association. In my constant struggle to increase my credit rating I have been taking out things on layaway with high deposit/short term/no interest deals that I can easily afford, for the past few years. Saw a Roger Waters bass second hand on GuitarGuitar for £500 and lept on it. Just wondering how consistently good or bad these basses are? What was the weight of the ones you tried or owned? Basically, I really want a 50's precision classic but didn't want to play the new price. So buying this one to change into a 50's P with Anodised Gold Scratchplate, Chrome bridge, Chrome knobs and screws to save a bit of cash. Cheers.
11. I tried a Fender Dimension at andertons. Jack socket was falling out but it was a very light bass! Tones were interesting as well.
12. I have a Modern Player Jazz. Love the tone, the Finish on the neck and body is beautiful. Electronics and shielding are great. It's fairly heavy though! I am also getting the nut replaced on mine. Careful on ordering the sunburst model, they look horrible as many are made out of 3 pieces of wood or more. I had to look through about 5/6 in real life before I found one that looked good enough. (Two piece). The tuners on mine are absolutely fine.
13. I have discovered an issue with the electronics. The neck pickup has lost signal to the preamp. Should be just a quick rewire job. I haven't the time or inclination to fix it myself. As such I have reduced to the bass down to just £800 for a quick sale. Not really interested in trades or part ex's anymore, unless it's for a Musicman Stingray with Maple neck and 3EQ. Cheers! Rob.
14. Cheers. I have emailed Noden.
15. Unfortunately Wunjos Workshop is only for stuff purchased at Wunjos and need repairing under warranty. Not for modification.
16. Any other names folks? Need someone open tomorrow if possible. Charlie seems a bit expensive and Reading is a bit far from me sorry.
17.
I've seen lots of good reports about Graham Parker luthier in Lewisham. I've never used his services only going on what i have read.

Give Greg a call at Guitar Aid. Recommended. http://www.guitaraid.co.uk/ He's done a few jobs for me and for Billy Apple of this parish too, I believe. He's good and doesn't charge the Earth.
Cheers folks, I have emailed both of them. Hopefully they can put up with my fussiness! The one in Putney seems ideal.
18. Hello guys. I have some things I need looking at with some of my basses, I used to go to a certain bass shop in Camden for my needs, but they screwed me over a few months ago when they didn't pay attention to what I wanted, so looking for someone else. Basically I need some remedial work done on some wiring where a pickup/pre-amp is intermittently dropping out at random times. So need a decent electronics expert who will track down the issue and solve it. I am also looking for someone to do some routing for a battery box, cut a new brass nut and perform a little bit of weight relief. Can anyone recommend someone? Preferably need it done fairly quickly. Wont pay the ends of the earth, but I don't want a cheap job either. Quality at a decent price. Cheers!
19. pmed.
20. Major price reduction, I found a small screw hole where a side mounted jack would have gone. £900 Or part ex with cash my way for a 3 band Musicman Stingray.
21. CHINSPINNER, welcomes you to a night of heavy groovy rock, My first bass and vocal performance. ENTRY IS FREE, BUY SOME DRINKS The bass is grindy as heck, don't quite know all the lyrics which is really bad considering we have been together for over 2 years... But there is a bass solo! Sorta. I'll be playing a cheap and cheerful Fender Modern Player Jazz bass through a VT Deluxe into the house rig. Anyway, if you are interested it is in Luton and the George II pub, supporting a couple of other bands. We're on at 8:45. Sounds like: https://soundcloud.com/chinspinner Event poster: https://www.facebook.com/events/305282206348589/ We are: http://www.facebook.com/chinspinner Hope to see you there!
22. Ooof, A P neck jazz is my idea of heaven!
23.
With the wrong string spacing, wrong preamp and wrong pickups, what a disappointment that you're having to resort to selling it instead of just getting your money back! What a pity!
To be fair, the pre-amp is better then the one offered initially.
24. I have just posted a review of this bass here and a better explanation as to why I am selling it. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/251206-review-letts-bass-6-string-scroll-bass/
