7. One of the early German budget ranges? - Streamer Standard. One piece bridge, Carolena body, a precursor to the Rockbass but they were made in Germany - not bad basses really.
8. Thanks everyone.
The price ^_^ BSB
What difference in price do you think would be in (actual, achieveable) new shop prices, also any difference in second hand prices?
9. I do like the look of these - being a Yammy should be pretty solid as well
10. I see that there are recent Fender Standard USA Jazz's around? Is the newer range the one with the Custom Shop 60's pickups? Is this the only significant difference? What are the general opinions on the difference in the pickups - better / worse than the American Standard Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickups? Final question, has the custom shop pickup version now replaced the American Standard Jazz Bass Single-Coil Pickup version as the Standard USA Fender Jazz option?
11. Do not like the typical Rickenbacker clanky metallic tone at all. Really gets on my wick...
12. Thanks for sharing from another Warwick fan (currently 2 x $$, Corvette Proline Fretless, Corvette Hot Rod 5'er and Dolphin Pro 2) Great pictures and great write up - very jealous. Well done you........
13. Superb bass this. I've got exactly the same one although mine is a bit scruffier than this lovely example. My bass is from the same time as well so has the non adjustable Tone Pump. See this thread here as there is some discussion over whether or not the Tone Pump is boost only. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/93320-spector-tonepump-is-not-boost-only/page__hl__spector%20boost I love the Tone Pump, loads of tones from throbbing dub bass to glassy highs and everything in between. Good Luck with the sale.
14. Bloomin' 'eck - a better guitar for £100 you cannot buy - someone got a bargain there....
15. Based in the North West, I would love to visit a Warwick stocking that has the 'full suite' of Warwicks. I believe they are difficult to deal with from a stockist/distributor point of view as they try to force onto the store the full range of stock and amps which I suspect would give most stores an issue in the amount of money they would have to spend to put some stock on site.
16. Agreed with the above, one of those songs you can play as simply or more difficult if you want. In fact if you get the groove down you could probably get away with playing almost anything over it. I'm sure I've got an old magazine transcription with the dots somewhere if that helps you at all?
17. Hello There 'The Hat' Hope you are getting on with the Bass Collection alright. The Bass Collection, even more so with the upgraded electrics, will actually give you a good Precision sound (P Bass) by using only the neck pickup and also a good Jazz sound by using only the bridge pickup. At the moment I happen to have both a Precision and a Jazz bass and am more than happy for you to come over and have a look and a listen and a chat about all things bass. You know where I am if that sounds of interest.
18. Agree with some of the opinions on this. I tried one of these in Dawson's - they were telling me about it having a USA pickup - which I didn't think sounded up to much compared to the other P's they had in. Makes sense now reading the above. Seems like a bit of a 'Frankenstein' / random Fender parts bass.

20. Stunning bass niceguyhomer. I'd probably keep hold of the Clover for a bit longer to get decided on which way you want to go - it would be easier to find the jazz you are after than to find another Clover like this I expect.
