  1. Is the neck straight? Truss rod function as it should? Did you have it on a fender body? Cheers.
  2. I've had this for four or five years now and initially it was my main gigging bass but lately I've been playing a Mexican bitsa bass as it's lighter and cheaper or one of my 5 string basses. I wouldn't say it has any bad points as it plays and sounds brilliant and it's only lacquer checking and some fairly minor scuffing and a bit of tarnish of the chrome that show its age. The neck is straight and it has plenty of life in the original frets. I can't speak for the originality of every single nut bolt and screw as I'm not the original owner however when I bought it, I had a luthier friend of mine check it over and he said it was all legit. Two reasons I'm thinking of selling i) I'm wanting to get an older jazz and so having some extra funds would be nice ii) I'm getting too old and skinny for a 10 pounder. I'd much prefer local pickup in Brighton UK but would consider shipping within the UK at a push but this has to be arranged and paid for by buyer. Not desperate to sell as it's probably earning more interest than money in the bank! Message me if you want more pics. Also, I'd trade for an older original jazz (nothing else), money your way. Here are some clips to hear what it sounds like. Same line, different volume/tone settings. Both pickups and tone on 10: Back pickup only, tone on 2: Front pickup, tone on 6:
  3. Lovely bass. Are you visiting the south of England anytime soon?
  4. Great price. Someone will get a bargain.
  5. I have a new single gotoh that will fit your Mustang. If you decide you want to cancel the order, make me an offer.
  6. We need an EU trade deal on used Fenders.
  7. That price is obscene. Someone buy this before I find a reason to buy it!
  8. Yeah, I bought it from ishibashi in Japan although I'm not certain it's Japanese made. I fell in love with the blocks and binding and liked the idea of a 22 fret neck as the 19 frets on the Mustang can be a bit limiting.
  9. Sorry, forgot to say it's a Grass Roots medium scale.
  10. I've got a mustang which I like and this as well which is a 32" scale, slim neck and compact body so it doesn't feel too different to the mustang. I need to thin the herd though so I'll have to toss a coin pretty soon.
  11. Do you play one finger per fret at the low end of the neck? If so, try Simandle technique and shift a bit more. Way easier on the wrists and tension generally.
  12. I play jazz flats and jazz rounds. Every now and then I try something else but I always go back to them. I have to set the action a bit higher due to the low tension but it's a small price to pay. Thomastiks are the bomb in tone and feel. Possibly not a slap string but I'm fine with that as I'm pretty much a pure fingerstyle player.
  13. I bought one of these new a couple of months back. Very nice bass, great build and finish. I have quite small hands and I'm fine with it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not questioning your reason for sale, I always thought small hands = narrow, shallow necks. Then I bought a 78 P with a really chunky neck and found it pretty easy to play and I'm now wanting to sell a Fender with a really slim neck as I find it too slim. Anyway, enough nonsense from me - it's a cracking bass, the buyer won't be disappointed.
  14. Do you know what it weighs?
  15. It's a bitsa. Mexican neck, squire body, US 75 RI pickups. When gigging was a thing, I used it quite a lot. Plays/sounds great, nice and light and doesn't cause me any anxiety.
  16. I wish this was the extent of my problem.
  17. Pre brexit I'd have been all over that!
  18. Price seems pretty fair. The problem is there are some horror stories floating around about import duties and VAT when buying from the EU that might be detering potential buyers. Oh yeah and the fact that there ain't much going on in terms of gig. Best of luck.
  19. check him out playing with Tony Remy: https://g.co/kgs/xPyuwb
