1. Remember that it's the District line to Olympia that you need. The entrance to the show is on the Hammersmith Road, anyway. http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com/visit/travel-accomodation-2/
2. I have noticed that it's possible to post the link to a BC thread to Twitter, by clicking the "T" symbol below the reply box at the bottom of that thread. If I click that button I can tweet as Basschat. I imagine that other members would tweet as themselves. Now, I'm not criticising or stirring - in fact I'm deeply grateful for the admins' and developer's hard work on this site - but I am wondering why we still haven't got a Follow Us On Twitter button on the home page, which would be far more useful, in my opinion. After all, it's just a matter of adding a snippet of code to the source. Our Twitter community is slowly growing organically anyway, but it's still only a fraction of the size of that on Facebook.
3. I had them on my 4 for a while - far too high tension. I've now gone the opposite way and fitted a set of TIs.
4. Very true. As I was saying to you on FB, one of the problems with us "true lefties" is that the market is even smaller and less dynamic due to a number of left-handed people learning to play right-handed. I've heard all the reasons - "playing a guitar is difficult in any case, so I may as well learn to play the kind that offers more options"; "I'm actually using my strong hand, the left, to fret as opposed to plucking" and so on and so forth. Quite apart from actually finding a lefty bass easier to play than a righty - cos I'm a lefty, duh - I make a point of trying to remind manufacturers that we exist, and would they mind at least making stuff ambidextrous, if possible. It's an uphill struggle.
5. Thank you guys for a great gig! I'll be in touch soon with a DVD of photos and vids.
6. LOL, and I can help on the location of Wetherspoon pubs - cheap and cheerful
7.
This was on Facebook just yesterday, "Can I just throw this out there.. If you wanna go into the main stage to see the live performances you will need a ticket. NOT the ticket you used to get into the show, a different ticket, but don't worry, they're free. It's just that we can't let everyone in the auditorium so have it ticketed. Get them from the main Bass Guitar magazine stand near the entrance. This also means exhibitors too! Sorry to be a ball-buster but you have no idea how many people we can't let into the performances every year cos of this so at least if you all know and can pass the message on! thanks! See you next weeeekeeend!"
Yup, just got confirmation of this from Twitter:
Basschat.co.uk ‏[s]@[/s]basschatuk [s]@[/s]bassguitarshow [s]@[/s]UKGuitarShows [s]@[/s]BassGuitarMag Will there be tickets for the live performances, or can we just walk in? 8. LOL maybe not... but it's still a little beauty
9. Well that actually looks very nice!
10. I'd say Camden tends to be primarily for youngish rock-metal-hardcore types. Unless the two of you fit that demographic, I'd suggest you stay closer to the centre of town. Yes, it's tourist-y and expensive, but it offers practically everything you may like to do. What do you think you'd like to do in London? Cinema? Theatre? Big music gig? Clubbing? Classical concert? Eating out and then off to an exotic bar? Let us know and we'll try to help. For instance, a place like the South Bank has many attractions of different kinds, some of which may even be free.
11. Well, it would have cost £369 new as a rigthy model, but lefty is another kettle of fish, they are usually more expensive - when they exist at all - so I guess you did the right thing. Info and photos please
12. Relevant Transport linkies in this post: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/187878-london-bass-guitar-show-2013-2-and-3032013/page__view__findpost__p__1981948
13. Haha, and you and Steve look so cool with your dancing in front of the band. It was huuge fun to be there and take photos - and also no fewer than 5 videos!
14. Great to see the Jetsonics guys, Nige, Steve and several other musicians and their halves last night. Fantastic evening. Here are some photos (links to a Flickr set) - http://www.flickr.co...839220772/show/
15. Absolutely agree with Nige! Working on some photos as we speak

17. From what I understand there won't be any tickets. Last year, visitors were supposed to collect free tickets from certain stands, but this was scrapped at the last moment, and we were simply told to queue at the door of the auditorium or place where the masterclass or gig was happening. This is very likely to be this year's setup as well.
18. Ha! Missed this... sounds great, Shell - go for it, good luck, and keep us all posted \m/ \m/
19. Thanks Barrie! I'd happily get one pass for the Sunday, please, to be there with you guys and the BC table. It's going to be simply awesome
20. Good Rock on with the #BCBassRelay! \m/ \m/
21. Excellent stuff! Get him to sign up to BC if he isn't a member already
22.
I'd bet there are plenty of "guitar owners" who have written and performed world famous songs that are far more popular than many 'musicians' ever manage.
Yes, but then I suppose there are also plenty of "singers" who can't utter a word without feeding it through an auto-tune. Does popularity count more tham professionalism? If one's job is being a musician/singer/whatever, wouldn't you expect that person to be at least reasonably competent? This is not meant as a luddite comment - machines are useful and can help, but they shouldn't be substitutes for a modicum of skill.
23. LOL, that's me seeing Metallica with Newsted back in the day!
24. Just a quick update to say that I'll have to re-work the meetup schedule for the Sunday, as David Ellefson has been added to the Live Stage performances on Sunday. I'll publish a revised schedule asap. 25. Thanks Chris! Tweeted.
