If you wanna go into the main stage to see the live performances you will need a ticket. NOT the ticket you used to get into the show, a different ticket, but don't worry, they're free. It's just that we can't let everyone in the auditorium so have it ticketed. Get them from the main Bass Guitar magazine stand near the entrance. This also means exhibitors too! Coming to the London Bass show...

I'd say Camden tends to be primarily for youngish rock-metal-hardcore types. Unless the two of you fit that demographic, I'd suggest you stay closer to the centre of town. Yes, it's tourist-y and expensive, but it offers practically everything you may like to do. What do you think you'd like to do in London? Cinema? Theatre? Big music gig? Clubbing? Classical concert? Eating out and then off to an exotic bar? Let us know and we'll try to help. For instance, a place like the South Bank has many attractions of different kinds, some of which may even be free. -
Well, it would have cost £369 new as a rigthy model, but lefty is another kettle of fish, they are usually more expensive - when they exist at all - so I guess you did the right thing. Info and photos please

Haha, and you and Steve look so cool with your dancing in front of the band. It was huuge fun to be there and take photos - and also no fewer than 5 videos!

Great to see the Jetsonics guys, Nige, Steve and several other musicians and their halves last night. Fantastic evening. Here are some photos (links to a Flickr set) - http://www.flickr.co...839220772/show/

London Bass Guitar Show 2013 - 2 and 3/03/2013
Silvia Bluejay replied to Silvia Bluejay's topic in Events
From what I understand there won't be any tickets. Last year, visitors were supposed to collect free tickets from certain stands, but this was scrapped at the last moment, and we were simply told to queue at the door of the auditorium or place where the masterclass or gig was happening. This is very likely to be this year's setup as well. -
Ha! Missed this... sounds great, Shell - go for it, good luck, and keep us all posted \m/ \m/
-
Thanks Barrie! I'd happily get one pass for the Sunday, please, to be there with you guys and the BC table. It's going to be simply awesome

Good Rock on with the #BCBassRelay! \m/ \m/

Bass player who plays every song in same key?
Silvia Bluejay replied to lowlandtrees's topic in Bass Guitars
I'd bet there are plenty of "guitar owners" who have written and performed world famous songs that are far more popular than many 'musicians' ever manage.
Yes, but then I suppose there are also plenty of "singers" who can't utter a word without feeding it through an auto-tune. Does popularity count more tham professionalism? If one's job is being a musician/singer/whatever, wouldn't you expect that person to be at least reasonably competent? This is not meant as a luddite comment - machines are useful and can help, but they shouldn't be substitutes for a modicum of skill. -
Just saw my favourite bassist live.....

LOL, that's me seeing Metallica with Newsted back in the day! -
Just a quick update to say that I'll have to re-work the meetup schedule for the Sunday, as David Ellefson has been added to the Live Stage performances on Sunday. I'll publish a revised schedule asap. I have been asked by fellow BC member Alex Lofoco to give the forum a shout about his clinic tour of the UK and Italy and his masterclass at the London Bass Guitar Show. He's being supported by Laurus Basses and Rotosound - and he'll be at their stands giving the masterclass. Check this out:
Alex Lofoco will be on the road with his 'double thumbing' bass masterclass in March 2013. Eleven dates spread over the UK and Italy in collaboration with Laurus basses www.laurus.it and Rotosound strings www.rotosound.com. For the Londoners, Alex will be demoing during the London Bass Guitar Show at the Rotosound (Stand number D11) and Laurus (Stand number B5) booths and will visit the ICMP on Wednesday the 6th. http://icmp.co.uk/in...ails.asp?ID=508 Check out the other dates in the calendar in case you are around for a not-to-be-missed lecture. Also check Alex's video lesson where he explains the basics of 'double thumbing' technique...and for the bravest he provided the full transcription of his improv too! http://www.chitarre....ouble-thumbing/
I'll make sure to pop down the the stand to meet the guys during the show

Something weird with subscription page
Silvia Bluejay replied to Silvia Bluejay's topic in Site News
Yeah, I get the same - the subscription only applies to market place, is that correct??
Should be so, but i'd expect an announcement of some sort before implementation. -
Attempt at creating a thread without that keyword
Silvia Bluejay replied to Silvia Bluejay's topic in Site News
It wasn't the word "subscribe" that triggered the page and blocked access, but a generalised glitch on the desktop version. I seem to be OK to post now. -
