1. I guess that goes for any ebay-themed thread... Anyway, the admins' suggestions is simply to create threads with "LH" or similar in the title, as opposed to having one dedicated section or thread within the ebay subforum.
2.
Maybe start a Left-handed thread in the eBay - Weird and wonderful subforum to post links to interesting lefty items on eBay, Gumtree and the likes?
That sounds like a good idea and I'm going to suggest it to the admins
3. Not sure about the potential usefulness of a full-fledged LH "section", as we already have this thread for LH-related talk and the Lefty for Sale ghetto (Note: I'm quite positive that's meant as a joke! All the subforum headings are supposed to be read with GSOH). As for the rest of this site, we're bassists like everyone else on here, so we can, and should, engage in common discussions.
4. We were up in the circle too. Excellent seats, we could actually see and hear the whole gig and we were at a reasonable distance, but yes, Andy you're right, Norman's bass was barely audible, badly mixed in and thin. We had no problem hearing any of the other instruments in both bands, so it wasn't due to our position in the house.
5. Well, there is an NCP or similar pay-per-hour car park at the back of the Lyric theatre...
6. Didn't know they have Wilko as support act. Excellent Edited because I seemed to think Quo are a "he" as opposed to a "they"...
7. Catching him at Borderline this Sunday
8. Dani Molino has none other than BC's very own Happy Jack on double bass PS See you there, Elias!
9. Public FB album of the Dogs' first gig at The Rising Sun, Stanwell, on 21st March: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.823380221009049.1073741839.407912292555846&type=1&l=97fe471ce8
10. Roger is absolutely awesome, and his modesty sounded absolutely genuine. Brilliant role model to have for bassists Thanks for your appreciation, Steve - I know I'm always banging on about being lefty, but there's still too much covert discrimination, and we need to make our voices heard in any way we can.
11. Good stuff! Keep it going. If you were on WordPress I'd be following you. Following Blogger with my unused Google account is pointless, I'm afraid, as I never log on. My works in progress are in my sig.
12. First time in the friendly local music pub near Heathrow. Should be good - come along if you're in the area
13. I've now finally uploaded 40 extra photos of stands and GAS-inducing gear! http://www.flickr.com/photos/bluejay_my_photos/sets/72157642582270085/ I've also added this link to the blog entry itself.
14. Photo set from the gig! Pity I have no pics of BC's own Greyparrot playing bass on stage with Jerry - when he was up there I was recording video on two separate devices and had no means of also taking photos. http://www.flickr.com/photos/bluejay_my_photos/13253405254/in/set-72157642561799285
15. Thanks Kev! Good stuff
16.
Ewww.
Agree 100%. Horrid.
17. A few of us BCers will be there again this year to enjoy Jerry's playing with Mondo Carne and others. Expect another avalanche of photos and, if allowed, video http://www.facebook.com/events/470589433029947/?ref_notif_type=plan_mall_activity&source=1 Sorry, no non-FB links - do get yerself a FB account, willya
18. You bet I'll be on it as soon as they announce the 2015 dates! http://www.londonbassguitarshow.com/
19. And... the Dogs' social media is run by a teetotal Italian woman. But we still get gigs out of both t'interweb and pubs.
20. I'm resurrecting this thread for those who don't "do" the Events forum. I've added a reply from Joel McIver regarding improvements to the 2015 LBGS here: http://basschat.co.u...ost__p__2394165. Feel free to take a look at the previous 2-3 pages of posts too. If you'd like to add comments, please reply on the Events thread, not this one. Thanks
21. As I mentioned above, I contacted the LBGS organisers via Facebook to let them know our feelings about what could be done better. I have received a reply via personal message from BGM editor and fellow BCer Joel McIver, and he has authorised me to publish it here. It's all good news.
Hi Silvia! I've read all the LBGS posts with interest. Thanks to you and all the members for their feedback. I'll pass the info onto my colleagues at Blaze Publishing, with emphasis on the volume levels and stand placing for next year. I can't guarantee that they'll find workable solutions but at least the issues will be discussed. What I would like you to pass on to the forum is that the show was a bigger success than last year, with ticket sales 30 percent up on the 2013 event. We had fewer exhibitors because of the Birmingham event (without naming names, the clash of dates was absolutely not our fault and will not be allowed to happen again!) and obviously Jack Bruce dropped out at the last minute, so given those facts we're delighted with the way it went and the numbers who came to the show. Thanks for all your support! I can be contacted at [email protected] if anyone wants to raise points me with personally.
I'll dig out that other LBGS post in General Discussion and copy this there too, but ask that replies be posted to this thread.
22. the guys have posted their Christmas 2013 video. All live and unplugged, and shot in Rick's home. http://youtu.be/J1o9KKdstFQ
23. The first set of "extra" photos is posted! More shots of Basschatters: (let's hope Flickr allows the slideshow). The remaining extra photos are of the stands, and will follow as soon as they are ready
24. Great post, Marcin - caption edited I love reading what each of you guys made of the LBGS this year. I have posted my blog to the LBGS's FB page, inviting comments regarding my observations and suggestions at the end of the blog. We'll see if they come back to us.
25. I was safely away from the heat of the Battle of the Coats, and the photos I took don't show how the commotion was unfolding
