1. Hi guys, any of you know of any (rhythm) guitarist (30+ but age not really a problem just that we're getting on a bit) who might want to play in an original rock band (great if they either use roland synth midi or play keyboard too but not holding my breath there lol) .. band's called 'The Chasing Dark' and we're from Bradford .. got some crappy footage on youtube if they want to see us (called ORCHID then) .... here's my number in case 07576576302 cheers Simon http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M5f5WRhO_TY
2. I've a Super12 & power it with GK700RB-II .. monsterous ! I did have a TC Classic 450 first but sold it .. didn't seem to have the power .. no regrets so far .. did try a GB (shuttle I think) at bassdirect & thought it was a fine amp ... best to try (in real band scenario if possible) my 2c Si
3. Can't wait to see it ... really wanted a transblack myself but couldn't wait so got the 'blue' version ABZ ! sorry name's Si not Dan ... lol
4. Can anyone advise me on the following ... I want to take the head out of the combo but it's internally wired so I want to 'cut' the speaker wires that connects to the amp & drill hole in chassis then solder the same 'cut' wires to a 'jack socket' (not speakon) so I can connect any cab to the (Eden Nemesis) amplifier. Can I use a normal 1/4" jack socket ? Does it need to be grounded or earthed etc ? thanks Simon
5. I didn't think mine was .. so NO is my answer .. see if you can get one from Thomann so you have 30 days to try it out .. send it back & get refund if it isn't loud enough. Guess it does depend on your cab (s) & how loud your band is ... I also had a 400RB .. I now have a 700RB & that's really loud. So my advise would be to save up & try get a 2nd hand 700RB (maybe around £300 mark) hope this helps Si
6. Really happy with my BF S12 .. no probs so far .. too loud for last (pub) gig even without PA support but got to crank it at recording with GK 700RB-II & monsterous
7. Don't know cept it took me over 20 hours of sanding by hand to get to the ash body on mine ... never liked the orange anyway !
8. I've a 'sealed' Markbass 610 which might pair nicely with your Ampeg .. only weighs @ 35kg flightcased .. just take front off & away you go .. cost me @ £1200 but selling here for £700 .. probably over your budget but you can come check it out if you like .. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/123246-markbass-classic-300-610-cab-fs-l2000/page__fromsearch__1 Si

10. I also play in a loud (normal) rock band & bought the MB200 as a backup but it just didn't have enough power (started to distort when pushed near/to the max) then bought a TC Classic 450 but sold that as I was really disappointed (also with power) .. now have GK 700RB-II .. monsterous through my Barefaced Super 12 (4Ohm) ... absolutely love it but realise it might be a bit to big/heavy for your purpose which though you haven't stated looks like it might be 'quieter' gigs but you also might need a bit more clean headroom .. so my advise would be try before you buy (through your own cab & in a real gig scenario if possible) I wish I could've done with the 1st two amps as it would've a lot of time & money .. try find a 7 day money back option etc .. hope any of this helps Si
11. Thanks WalMan .. works fine on Soundcloud .... 1st chance I got to crank the GK thru Barefaced S12 (couldn't do it at last gig - too loud !) GK really comes alive .. what a sound !!
12. For anyone interested he's our latest track & for anyone who has listened and possibly wondered what I used ... - Dingwall ABZ5 - Gallien Krueger 700RB-II - Barefaced Super 12 mix of DI & mic http://soundcloud.com/si_whittle/tcd-hold-on any comments etc welcome cheers Si
13. I'd like to be added to the list please Darren .. thanks

18.
does this bargain baby have a serial number?
00052
19. If any of my gear shifts (got some interest on my Dingwall) I might make an offer on this, don't really need the gator case tho, how much for a straight sale mate (incl. postage)? cheers Si
20. further price reduction (pickup only at this price) £650
21. Backup amp has died on me so really need to shift this to fund new amp
22.
I could use a bit more information on this bass. I used to have a Z2, which didn't really do it for me but I sort-of still miss it. Obviously the spec has changed since this model ... which year is this? Anything unusual about the truss-rod adjustment? Which pre-amp is it? And what's the spec of the pre-amp? What strings is it wearing?
Don't know much about this one as I traded for it a few months back but ThomBassmonkey might be able to help there as it's the one he sold to Jarhead ... anyway I put some fresh voodoo strings on when I got it (but obviously a few months old now) haven't touched the truss-rod as I'm happy with the action. . Believe these have EMG pre-amps but no idea re: pre-amp spec. Only selling as my ABZ5 isn't getting used & I could do with some cash. cheers Simon
23.
That would be £190 for a head and 410 with a couple hundred watts. Cant go wrong IMO. Hartke is pretty blegh soundwise but they'll forever be one of my favourite manufacturers because if you have a problem you can call Larry Hartke himself. I have a Gallien Krueger for the same reason, Bob Gallien is a nice man and eager to sort out any problems. Definitely look around used, a gigging rig for under £500 is sooooo easy to come buy it's ridiculous.
That Hartke sounds like a good deal, I wouldn't go combo route either (as stated above) but there are some good ones out there ... what's your band called btw ?
