1. Brand new .. 2 set pack of D'Addario nickel round wound .045 .065 .085 .105 Incl. p&p as long as you pay paypal fees or trade for Dingwall 5 string set SOLD
2. Yes .. I always used my fingers to control the volume but the cavity is large enough to add more controls .. guess I better edit the post .. cheers !
3. Custom jazz bass hand made by the late Paul McNab (Paulman - Huddersfield) .. only contemplating selling as I now only want to play 5 string anyway, here's the spec ........ 1 piece Amazaque (ovangkol) body .. very heavy (+/- 6kg) 1 piece Wenge neck (absolutely gorgeous, best neck I've played .. pity its not 5 string) .. nice ebony fretboard too Gotoh reverse tuners (black) http://www.allparts....-3-p-2030.html# Nordstrand Big Singles http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_sp..._Signature.html Hipshot A style brass bridge (black) http://store.hipshot...ct_detail&p=114 Schaller strap locks 5-way rotary selector switch ... by Stan Hinesley (bridge / br+n series / br+n parallel / br+n series out-of-phase / neck) http://www.facebook.com/Stan.Hinesley.Pickups No volume or tone controls but the cavity is large enough to add more. Switch shaft was slightly loose so have put two screws in to secure it but over did it slightly & went right thru but only the point of the screw & hardly noticable, switch works fine tho now lol. Maybe you'd want to put typical jazz controls in or perhaps a preamp but this bass sounds just fab as it is imho. Very full sounding 'aggressive' jazz bass maybe due to +/- 13lbs of mass .. so certainly no light weight but the amazaque/wenge/ebony combined with Nordstrand BS's might also account for that ! Made my other jazz basses feel like toys .. I used to call this my 'jazz bass on steroids' lol .. such a great tone / sustain .. I even put the same pups in my Dingwall but just doesn't sound quite as good. Such a pity it's not a 5 string but I don't play 4 anymore & don't see myself going back (not even in a band anymore & need to sell off all my surplus gear) No trades please... unless 27" iMac (2011 type older model fine) Any questions/more pics or trial just contact me (07508211932) .. I would prefer collection in person so you can try out before you buy .. could possibly deliver for petrol money ... cheers Simon
4. Got this as backup for Fender Geddy Lee but it turned out much better so sold Fender but now play 5 string so just not getting use .. only trade I'm really interested in is a Gallien Krueger 700 RB-II .. it has minor scratches etc as I have used & gigged it the last few years .. bass assembled & all work done by the late Paulman (Huddersfield) ... nice light weight bright snappy jazz but also aggressive with a nice growl .. [s]DR black beauties probably need replacing tho[/s] .... 1 piece swamp ash body http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseIt...1&Path=Body maple neck (sanded down to same spec as Fender Geddy Lee jazz neck) http://www.warmoth.com/Showcase/ShowcaseNe...ce&i=BN2942 http://www.warmoth.com/Bass/Necks/TrussRods.aspx Schaller BMLLB black light tuners http://www.warmoth.com/Schaller-BML-Light-...k-P955C732.aspx Badass III bridge (strung thru body at mo but originally had hipshots so bit awkward to thread thru, can also do top loading) http://www.basscentre.com/bridges-knobs-st...ass-bridge.html Wizard 84's pups http://www.wizardpickups.co.uk/shop.asp?ca...sub=Jazz%20Bass 5 way rotary selector switch http://stanhinesleypickups.com/passive_controls.htm No volume or tone controls but the cavity is large enough to add more controls. Flightcase by http://flightcaseuk.com/ Any questions/more pics or trial just contact me (07576576302) .. I would prefer collection in person so you can try out before you buy. cheers .......................... TRADED Simon I've recorded some sound samples showing different pickup positions ie 1=br / 2=br+n series out of phase / 3=br+n parallel / 4=br+n series / 5=n Recorded on line6 backtrack through Markbass Classic 300 valve amp (all knobs (cept master vol) set at 12 o'clock & Barefaced Super 12 (tweeter off), I am a heavy handed player but this is just to give you an idea etc, also there is plenty of cavity space to add extra controls/preamp etc .. hope this helps.
