1. Oh man, that is one stunning bass! I'm delighted for you. You had a specific Utility brief with an overlay of pure custom, and you stuck to it throughout! Hats off to you 4 Strings! The build, colour, wood figuring, and hardware are awesome, really awesome. Congrats man! I've loved every post of this thread. Thank you for sharing. RK

TC Polytune question

Thanks Shep, I do find the permanent display on the RC4 very handy. Is there a pedal Tuner with this facility? I agree about the Polytune display (and functionality), its a nice piece of kit. RK
4. I see that lots of people use the TC Polytune pedal. Does the display stay on all the time, or is it activated by the foot switch on the pedal? I use the TC footswitch (RC4) and it always shows the played note and its pitch. Very useful. thank you please RK
5.
You bunch of nitwits! They charge you £1599 for the striking red colour, and it's totally worth it! So the preamp is free, as is the class D amp. Deal of the century!
Red - to match my Bank Account! And a free pre-amp. Where do I sign? RK
6. Subscribed! RK
7. It's that old story again. What an item is worth is down to the purchaser, no-one else. Yes, its expensive, but good things usually are. If it doesn't perform though, it stays in the shop! RK
8. Delays with PCB manufacture mean that the Aurora won't be arriving until early '14. Still need one! Anybody got any more info about the amp? RK
9. More gold than Fort Knox! Awesome! One step nearer, Captain- might it be under the tree on Xmas morning? Great work as always RK
10. Beautiful bass, fantastic work! you lucky man! Enjoy! RK
11. Is that a more extensive cutaway than the norm? The body shape is so in-proportion with the wide 8-string neck. Very cool. It looks fabulous, like the rest of the bass. RK (been quiet for a day or two - auditioning!)
12. Here's a pic of the Marmite, sorry - Ramp, on the Perception. And yes, it is Ziricote/Walnut, to match the body of the bass. http://i49.tinypic.com/xmn8lg.jpg RK
13. Ramps are like Marmite. I have ramps on both my Overwater perceptions. I find it useful to have that anchor/reference point whilst playing. It also prevents me digging in when I get over-excited! I recently acquired a Tanglewater Jazz, and I find it strange to play without a ramp. I suppose its just what people are used to? The ramps on the Perceptions are fixed with double-sided sticky stuff, and are very stable, but are easily removed if necessary. Mocking up a ramp is a great idea for those wishing to experiment. thank you please RK p.s. I like ramps, but I don't like Marmite.
14. Glad you (pics?)are getting it sorted (pics). Can't beat a bit (pics?)of experimentation. (There are a few subtle hints hidden in this message - can you spot them all?) heh heh RK (pics?)
15. I'm with Myke, that bass is awesome, what a monster indeed! Class! RK
16. Fix needed.... Any news Captain? RK
17. Nice report 4 Strings! There will always be some issues to resolve with a new instrument, but you'll get there, and Heath seems very helpful. Nice one. Need pics though! RK
18. Wow! That is a monster! RK
19.
I pretty much exclusively play flats these days to get rid of the finger noise, I can still get a reasonably trebly brightness with them. easier on teh fingertips too. Don't think Ill be going back to rounds anytime soon
+1 RK
20. Oooh! All in one piece. (k-sad will be happy!) Looking good Captain, won't be long now! RK
21. Now THATS a headstock! Black n Gold! RK
22. There have been (and still are!) some awesome builds on here recently. We should have a meet-up and see the real deal(s). Perhaps at the LBGS in March? RK

25.
Cant see anything wrong with the headstock meself . Must be lovely to have a chuffing great milling machine in your garage Blablas
Yeah, it must take a fair bit of effort to put that back in the toolbox though! great work, as ever. RK
