1. There are multiple eBay ads for it at different prices which seems a bit fishy to me as well! Still gorgeous though.
2. Blimey, how gorgeous is this!? I'm totally smitten! https://m.ebay.com/itm/Blade-B2-Trans-Black-Ebony-Used-Bass-Guitar-Free-Shipping-from-Japan-b461/253153510020?hash=item3af1200284%3Ag%3ATCYAAOSwNnRYfiVK&_trkparms=gclientid%3DVjmGVXFPyL6dH4fNZM8MMg2r-vSLij3T9948I2FCqzjSbNc6PKZsNLN5MfLZizpc&_trksid=p2489528.m4335.l8656
3.
No, it was a much harder wood than balsa! Model ship builders use all sorts of exotic hardwoods and it is available in small strips, perfect for the OP's project. Unless he gets sidetracked into a long term build of the Cutty Sark!
Cheers Dave, I shall check out my nearest modelling shop! I've seen basswood listed in model shops online so it might have been that.
4. I'll shall soon be collecting a cheapish 4 string with the intention of converting it to fretless. I will fill the slots with maple, sand it and coat the fingerboard with cyanoacrylate (super glue to you and me). I would have thought that finding some cheap 1mm thick maple sheets would have been a doddle on the internet but no! It's a bleeding nightmare! I can find thinner but not 1mm. Does anyone know where I can find some? Thanks in advance.
5. Lush. So is that a B neck? It's lush either way.

7. I see from your profile pic you have an SB5000 as well, good choice, sir!
8. Isn't there one for sale on here?
9. Barry sorted my SB5000 for me, like he said, a lot of bass for the money. That's a real looker and I bet it sounds as good as it looks. Have a fellow Carvin lover bump on me!
10. Yeah, Fima was great with SHT, that's where I first saw him. Also, liked what I heard of Lost Tribes, with Rogers. Will check out Hasidic New Wave.
11. Saw this powerhouse trio last week at the 55 Bar in NYC, (the night before I met Will Lee!) and they were bloody incredible. Adam Rogers is a truly great guitarist with a mastery of a number of styles from jazz to blues to Hendrix to odd meter rock/metal to country/folk. His cv speaks for itself, playing with the likes of sax legends Michael Brecker and Chris Potter and stars such as Nora Jones and being chosen by none other than John Patitucci for the guitarist spot. Fima Ephron is also great, a total "pocket" player who sees his role as one of supporting the front line, however, dig a little deeper and you can hear really tasteful runs and fills, all executed with a great sense of tone and rhythm on his flat wound equipped P Bass. Add to those the powerhouse that is Nate Smith and you have a recipe for a great band. I bought the cd at the gig (had it signed by the three of them of course!) and haven't been able to stop playing it since. There's a large slice of Wayne Krantz and Oz Noy to Rogers' playing and tone, but that's not a bad thing! He also is capable of getting slightly Holdsworth when he lets rip, all done with absolute taste. His note choice is always spot on and his tone is gorgeous. I heartily recommend checking this album out, and try not to shout "What...!?" as he goes from the fiery ridiculousness of "Flava" or "Elephant" to the sublime, gentle C&W beauty of "Crazy". Check it out! https://adamrogersdice.bandcamp.com/releases
12.
I left one band because the keyboard player liked the Beautiful South.
Perfectly valid reason.
13.
Will only does big time birthday cakes.
Awesome!
14.
Mint! Will Lee is a Geordie, la laa la laaaa
😂😂😂
15.
Excellent. . You won't be forgetting that trip in a hurry. :-)
Definitely not!
16. Was in New York last week for a 6 day lads only 50th Birthday celebration and went to see the Band Of Other Brothers featuring Will Lee and Keith Carlock at The Iridium. Turns out it was Will Lee's Birthday, he was presented with a BOOB (Band Of Other Brothers) shaped birthday cake on stage, while the rest of the band tore into a raucous version of The Beatles "Birthday", which he then joined in taking lead vocal duty, then afterwards gate crashed his impromptu party at the back of the room. I was a bit reticent about doing so but fuelled by sufficient amounts of alcohol and a goading by my mates I went up to see him. I needn't have worried. What an absolute gent he was! He started by mocking my North East accent, then proceeded to tell us about how he was introduced to Viz magazine by Sting, and how back in the day he "went to the post office to buy some English Pounds, sent it off to England then had to wait two f***ing weeks for the f***ing thing to arrive!" He then went on to list his favourite characters, notably The Black Bag, Roger Melly, The Fat Slags and Sid The Sexist. He wasn't keen on Billy The Fish, mind. What an absolute star! The gig itself was great with some great playing all round, but the highlight of the evening was celebrating with Will! We all enjoyed it so much we went back the next night to see them again! https://youtu.be/u8A5TOG0vKc
17. Very experienced bass player with vocals, reader with transport and good gear looking for function/paid weekend work in Yorkshire area. Cheers!
18. The BX500 is meant to be great, I bet this is even better! Lot of amp for the money. GLWTS.
19.
That's my advert, I can assure you the carpet isn't worn, I don't have a cat but I did however have a white dog. It will be hoovered to within an inch of its life if sale were to come along 😉 plus it's now down to £300
No offence intended! Just looks rather bobbly. Fair price, mind.
20. Yeah....I'm pretty sure that's not an 80's JV neck. Sorry to have to say.
21.
...but you wouldnt get many gigs playing just like that, would you?
Gigs are overrated! I'd be happy to entertain myself in the comfort of my own home!
22.
Never got this album at all - too perfect and clinical for me, lacking in soul - runs for cover........
Listen to Michael Brecker's incredible sax solo and that gorgeous descending arpeggio that Marcus plays and tell me about that lack of soul again... https://youtu.be/Nomb3-hIWjA
