1. The original concept was 'donate, or pour ice over yourself'. It changed to both from either/or, to satisfy the Facebook generation's self-centredness! I played a gig for Macmillan last weekend and put something in the bucket (collecting, not ice!) … which, at my advanced age, is probably more dignified, not to mention effective.
 2. **** Price drop to £175 **** Wilson Ventures VM-65 I’ve always wanted a Mosrite, so when I saw this Ventures-inspired guitar in my local shop it was love at first sight. That was January, and so far it’s been out of its new gigbag about three times for some lounge noodling – effectively as it was when I saw it. Still has the protective plastic on the scratchplate… As the sticker suggests, it’s made in Korea. The tremolo appears to be modelled on the Strat rather than a Jaguar-type contraption (which, as a former Jag owner, I hated). The 22 fret bolt-on neck is a small C style with a rosewood fingerboard. Pickups are Seymour Duncan versions of the P-90, controlled by volume and tone knobs and a three-way selector. The Ventures have endorsed Wilson’s guitars, so needless to say it can do surf music effortlessly – but is surprisingly adaptable and very poky. The agathis body has the trademark carve that made this guitar iconic and is finished, as you can see, in a beautiful deep red. I shall probably buy a bass version, as I love the look. Sadly, I have had to admit I am no longer a six-string player… This as new model comes with an equally new luxury padded gig bag at £175 - 60 per cent off the new price.

 9.
In an ideal world I'd buy this, lock myself in my music room with some beer and just play all right now and wishing well over and over again.
The only fly in the ointment is Tetsu played on Wishing Well - a Precision, I suspect!

 14.
Pub gigs for 3 sets..??? What is the money for those?
£200 I fear - standard for any length set...
 15. Pub I've played in Maidenhead expects 10pm-1am with two breaks (3 sets). You tend to get different audiences for each set, as people move up and down the high street, get thrown out of closing pubs, etc. Obviously the last set is when the alcohol starts to really take a hold…so we save the rockier/best numbers till then. Last time we played there, we packed up at 12.30 unexpectedly. Our lead singer's daughter had been taken to hospital, and he'd found out at 9, so we played through a break and finished early. Trouble was, no-one bothered to tell me! But kudos to him for sticking with it (she was okay).
