As per my other thread, I'm thinking seriously about getting an Eden WT400 or similar. Trouble is, my experience of the Eden sound is restricted to POD and my Eden N8 practice amp, as we don't have a dealer who stocks Eden in Newcastle. Ideally I'd like to try it at one of my band practices (I would leave cash to the value of the amp), but if that's not possible just a home demonstration would be fantastic. Anyone?

Thinking about getting a small Eden head

Just to confuse things further. A Warwick Pro-Tube IX has come up for sale near me from someone I know. I should be able to test this at a practice weekend this weekend. I know it goes against the lightweight priniciples (massively), but it could be a lot of tone for not a lot of cash. Has anyone any experience of the Pro-Tube? -

Has the G-B got a switchable PSU like the Eden? Good point on the Mesa - light weight isn't everything, unless it's an amp I'm going to bring back from the States. -

Interesting - don't want that kind of problem. Were you pushing it really hard? I've not looked at amps since I got the Trace, so apart from Mesa, what else should I be looking at that won't break my back? -
So, fellow POD XT owners, what are your favourite amp/head and cabinet models? Maybe have some 'pearly' combinations? C'mon, share 'em here! My currently favourite is Hiwatt head with 4x10 Hiwatt amp, which I use with my Ibanez GSR for some crunchy, heavy sound... But I can't find anything 'warm'..
I find the Adam and Eve to be the warmest amp on my POD. Crank the bottom end up to 3oclock.

Which WT was it and what was it running into, if you don't mind me asking. -

It's a shame we don't have a decent bass shop in Newcastle. Amps need to be tested in a practice room. GuitarGuitar do sell Eden but they don't have anything in stock. I don't mind splashing the cash if I absolutely love the sound -

Is the Walkabout loud enough? It's only rated at 300W at 4ohm -

Thanks Markus. I should be able to pick up a WT400 for $450 - $500, shame the exchange rate isn't great at the moment, but it's still good enough to make it worth doing. -

Hi John. Must get round to see you with the Infinity next time I'm in the area. I always wanted a Boogie 400+ but I'd need a roadie to come with it -
I've been thinking of getting a new amp for a while now. I currently (and for the past 12 years) use a Series 6 Trace Elliot AH300 into a '96 Trace Elliot 1048H 4x10 cab (8ohm 300W) which I bought from new. I still love the sound of the Trace but it is getting a bit old now and although it has been super reliable (from when TE used to be good amps) it can't go on forever and it's very heavy!!! Out of all the amps on my POD I like the sound of the Eden the most, however there's nowhere near me that stocks them, and if I'm going to shell out a bit of cash I want to know that it'll work with my cab in a practice/gig situation. So I'm tempted to get a used WT400 or WTX-260 head from the states as I'm over there visiting friends for Christmas, and if I don't like it I should be able to get my money back through ebay. If I love it, I'll consider going for a WT800 if I feel I need the extra power. I play funk/rock/metal and normally run the Trace at about half volume for practices and gigs. Basses are both Warwick's - Thumb Bass NT5 (which I use with the TE mid pre-shape) and an Infinity NT5 which I use with the amp flat. Should I discount the 260 straight away - for power reasons? I think I'd prefer a valve pre-amp, so that leaves WT400/405/550. Does anyone in the North East have one I could try out at a practice - I'd leave cash to the value of the amp in case of damage/loss? All comments welcome
Hello mate, According to the Aguilar website it's 98lbs the same weight as the other GS 410 they make. I have the castors for the cab but if I were you I'd carry it and make Hindmarsh help you, after all he always needs a bit of exercise to keep his kite in check!!
