1. After the comments from our gig vid clips on this and the Warwick site, I mailed Dave Funk ( who builds the Thunderfunk amp I'm using) to tell him how much I love the amp and what a good reaction I'm getting when I use it. And sent him a Youtube clip. This is his reply
From the first note I could tell. Bass and singer sound great. I like it because I take sh*t about it not being a “rock” amp. Like there’s a difference? Thunderfunk, Youtube page Dave
How cool is that And I can assure anyone that hasn't heard 300ft, that the Thunderfunk is an awesome rock amp - in fact it's fantastic for all types of players
2. He seems to always use Warwick Stage 1 basses. Although recently he's started using the StarBass II for acoustic stuff. Great player and sound
3. That Infinity just has all the sounds covered. Super clear top end, fat bottom and Thumb bass like mids. Best bass I've ever played, and I always get positive comments about the bass sound since I bought it last year.
4. We organised a cracking gig at The Cluny in Newcastle over Christmas. I was using my 2003 Warwick Infinity NT5 and 1991 Thumb Bass NT5, Thunderfunk and Trace 4x10. It was a great gig, coupled with the fact that I had the best bass sound I've had in 23 years of playing Vid with sound taken from the desk (DI direct from Thunderfunk is what you're hearing) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3MheMjtfjs http://www.youtube.com/user/300ftgorilla#p/a/u/1/yuyckn5z9gA
5. Come out and have some Christmas fun
6. It's a nightmare getting people in at this time of year. We have a good crowd now but it's been hard work. Please come down and suport us, it will be a great gig.
7. Looking for a review. I think it was in a mid-November issue. Can you message me if you might have it. Cheers Neil
8. TTT. Come down. Have fun. Listen to great music.
9.
Soctlands premier Red Hot Chili Peppers band, The Richt Hoat Chillis are supporting my band - 300ft Gorilla - at our big Christmas bash at The Cluny 2 in Newcastle. I've seen them a couple of times now and they are a cracking band, and have a great frontman. Jose on the bass isn't bad either. Recommended. Tickets £4adv or £5 on the door. It's a small venue (140) so tickets are limited.
11. Went to see the Richt Hoat Chili's on Saturday in Edinburgh and they put on a great show. I ended up playing a song with them too... Not sure how the singer didn't knock himself out. This is going to be a top night. And tickets are selling quickly
12. If this hasn't already been posted, this looks like it should be good. http://www.basstospace.com/ This is from the welcome email I received.
To coincide with the 30th anniversary of Fishbone, Norwood "Captain Nutt" Fisher is chartering a trip for bass players and musicians from around the world to study under his direction at the NABA Institute (Norwood's Association for Bass Advancement). The experience will take place online for a select group of players that will be learning from Captain Norwood through a variety of mediums at their convenience throughout the week. Norwood will be providing lectures each week, along with excercises, and community tools to insure that all players who come to NABA and study with Norwood will take their playing to another dimension.
Norwood's a great player so I'm sure they'll be lots to learn
13. Should be able to make this one
14. These AH300 heads are absolutely amazing. I just plugged mine in for the first time in 6 months after using my Thunderfunk and I was literally blown away by the sound and power. 300Watts doesn't adequately describe the power and punch of this head. Good luck with the sale - you won't get a better rig for £400.
